Outstanding features of this watch: * Has kept perfect time in the year and a half since I bought it * Doesn't need recharging all the time like a cell phone; it's been running off the original batteries for a year and a half * Works where there's no cell phone service (yes, those places still exist and I visit them frequently) * Great for those like myself who dislike wearing a wristwatch, but who still need to keep track of the time; it's more like a small, portable clock * Clips onto belt loop, backpack, messenger bag, cross-body bag, purse, etc. * Easy to clip and unclip, but quite secure; I have never had it unclip itselt accidentally * Doesn't give you a tan line on your wrist * Water-resistant; I haven't personally tested to 100 feet, but it has gotten a lot of real-life testing in the rainy climate where I live * Nice unisex design; doesn't scream "man's watch" when I use it, but looks totally appropriate for a man's watch when my husband borrows it (he won't wear a wristwatch, either) * Has second hand, so can be used for checking heart rate (pulse) for fitness or medical reasons * It's analog, not digital, so it's old-school cool! * Numerals glow in the dark after brief exposure to light; saves battery life over a back-lit style. * Large, easy to read numerals * All the numerals 1-12 (none of this 12, 3, 6, 9, then figure out the rest). * Outer ring with markings for all 60 minutes/seconds * Outer ring numbered by fives from 05 to 55, which makes keeping track of minutes and seconds easier * Good watch for teaching children to tell analog time because of the four features listed directly above * Because it is analog, you can amaze and astound your friends by using the hour hand on this watch to find true north (numerous websites have instructions on how to do this); can't do that with a digital watch I was a little hesitant to order this watch because of the number of one star reviews, but now I'm glad I took a chance with this product. This watch has worked out well for me. I use it mostly in town for everyday use, but I also use it in the back country when camping or backpacking, and it has been rugged enough to stand up to that kind of use.

Tried several similar watches that had belt clips. 2 of the 3 I bought broke within a month or two for some reason. The 3rd is still working now, but is hard to read because of the contrast of the hands and the dial. Decided to just spend the extra money and get a good, brand name watch. It came in a nice box and was packaged good. Has a 5 year warrantee. It is very easy to read, is well built and looks great. I think I made the right decision. That last Dakota watch I had (a similar one) lasted over 5 years before it stopped working. If I can get 5 years out of this one, I'll be happy! Would recommend this.

Purchased this to wear to work, wear it clipped to my belt while working and clipped to my wallet when wearing pants without belt loops. It has been repeatedly beat against objects, dropped and even gotten wet a time or two. I am rough on electronics and have to have something that holds up well to day to day life and prefer to order American Made whenever possible. Was worried when purchasing off Amazon because sometimes you do not get what you expect or the quality isn't as expected. But have been very happy with this purchase and would purchase again or as a gift for a loved one. Isn't as large as many men's watches are but is perfect for glancing down to see the time and is the perfect size for a woman's smaller hand.

I don't wear a watch because I have bangle bracelets that bang into the face of any watch. I read mixed reviews about this watch with the concerns being the second hand falling off and the battery being impossible to change on your own. I HOPED I wouldn't run into those problems and so far so good!! Pros: - casual or dressy: I can wear with any outfit that has a belt loop - carabiner: opens at top so watch won't get lost - size: so light that u can hardly tell it's on - easy to read: iridescent hands against black face; I don't usually go out at night, but the hands do glow Cons: The only cons I've noticed would be for ANY watch you attach to your belt loop. Don't forget to take it off before doing laundry! It's crashed against the bathroom tile floor when I sit on the toilet, so be careful!

This is my second Dakota clip watch which are great. My first one I had while working in retail/delivery, as I can't wear wrist watches, and it got knocked around a LOT. It survived a good 3 years and only needed replacing as a dodgy battery leaked inside it, otherwise it would still be going strong. I also only ever replaced the battery twice (including the one that ruined it). This new one is a bit different. The crown moves a lot more easily (maybe even a little too much), and they've removed their logo from the back which used to be a nice finishing touch. I also got a bit unlucky with a clip that broke straight out of the box, but Dakota were great and sent a brand new one for free. Otherwise function seems to be the same and I'd definitely like to give some of their other watches a go too.

This is my 3rd purchase watch. I had one for about 3 years until the crystal broke going through airport security on my backpack. My son has one and it is still going strong. Great for everyday or outdoors. I like the simplicity as others have too many options features. I take it on all my travel, camping, hiking, etc. It is also good for every day if you don't like a wristwatch. June 23, 2014 Update: Definitely not the same watch or issue with quality. So I just noticed that the watch stopped after about 1 year was ready to change the battery when I noticed the second hand came off. Not sure if it is a fluke but I have seen other reviews noting a similar issue. Love the format an simplicity of this model but will avoid in the future.
