New to 3D printing, was always on the fence about spending so much on a printer and if it was worth it, but this was basically follow the setup manual, load a flash drive with some .stl files sliced into gcode with Orca, and I was printing in about an hour, thanks to the surprise, included filament, titanium blue pla. This thing prints great!!!! Looked up videos on best quality settings, really really great for a beginner printer. Fun for the whole family. EDIT: still amazed by the consistent quality and ease of use, load the code and fuhget about it, my only regret was not having enough to buy a bigger flashforge printer!

First time purchase for a 3D printer. Super easy to assemble (maybe 15-20 mins). Worked perfectly from first use. Learning curve is pretty easy given the Orcaslicer software is so user friendly. It’s not as loud as I was expecting. I set it up in a different room of the house and don’t hear it at all. For a first time user I would say this is ideal. Once I’m more comfortable with printing and learn how to make my own STL files I’d consider purchasing a higher grade version.

I bought this for my son’s 11th birthday after he had been asking for it for a long time. He absolutely loves it and uses it every day to print whatever he wants. His older brother is 14, and they constantly fight over who gets to use it more. This machine is fantastic and surprisingly accurate, I’m honestly amazed at what they create each day. We previously used a Toybox model, but this one is on a completely different level. We also tried an Ender 3 printer from Amazon and ended up returning it because it felt outdated, had an old-style display, and had poor device compatibility. This Flashforge has been a huge upgrade and is a great choice for beginners (I can’t speak for professionals, but for us it’s been perfect). The only downside is connectivity. You can only connect using a PC or laptop, not a tablet or mobile device which is quite annoying. Also, kids aren’t allowed to download the software (I don't know why?), so they have to use my laptop to print. Aside from that, it’s a must-have for anyone starting out in 3D printing

It’s a decent printer with good price. But, certain things are very poor quality. The nozzle gets clogged so easily I broke the small screw inside the nozzle twice spread while cleaning. Ultimately the extruder board failed, I am unable to use the printer at all now. It’s been less than six months

The media could not be loaded. I've purchased other printers including ender 3 and this one so far takes the win if you put together a printer before takes longer to read the instructions than to get it running printed great straight out of the box I say hasn't been perfect but the the learning curve on putting out great prints no manual settings or calibration not had a problem with bed adhesion on play and even petg the biggest problem I've had so far is it randomly disconnects from WiFi and when sending to the print in orca slicer it 50/50 if it even picks up the print or shows it even online and if it does show printer online it's 50/50 if it successfully sent to the print and same thing when you try to remote print in orca slicer half time doesn't show new files that just sent

It was originally pretty hard to try and connect it to a slicing website that you can export your own models to, but it ended being flawless after we figured that out. I personally recommend polar3D, as it is the easiest and most basic one out there. It should be pretty simple on how to connect it. Besides that, it's an amazing printer. I don't have any noise complaints because I keep it in my basement, but I don't have any other complaints. A really good beginner printer!

We wanted to get a 3D printer for our 10 year old for Christmas and didn't know much about them. We spent enough on the little dragons to pay for one. I looked at several different popular models and the differences were very confusing. I wanted something she could use herself, but didn't want her to quickly outgrow it. At a local farmer's market we talked so someone that was selling 3D printed figures and she recommended Flashforge, even though she used older models of two other manufacturers. We got the AD5M and the experience has been excellent. We have printed probably 25 or 30 things, mostly articulating dragons, snakes, etc. that printed in one piece. I didn't even know that was possible. We have had a few hiccups from user error, like I didn't realize there were different types of filament and bought a roll of ABS that promptly made a mess. Start with PLA. But otherwise all good. The only thing that was disappointing is that she has an iPad and you can initiate and manage printing with an iPad, but to my knowledge you can't run the software that allows you to "slice" the model for the printer. That requires a Windows or Mac PC. I will get something we can dedicate to that purpose which she can use for that, but I'm guessing that most of the printers have this limitation. We are extremely happy with the AD5M and it is a great value at holiday discounts.
