This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The reviews of this product give a generally positive impression, with many appreciating its value for the price. Most users indicated they liked the metal base, the number of buttons, and the overall build quality. However, some users noted issues with the mapping of buttons and others encountered problems with the controller's functioning. Some users found it to be made of cheap materials.

Pros

  • 🌟 Offers good value for money
  • 👍 Comes with a solid metal base for sturdiness and a high-quality feel
  • 🎮 Features a large number of buttons for increased functionality
  • 💡 Works as both standalone and in combination
  • 💼 Ideal for beginners looking for a basic model

Cons

  • 👎 Some users had to map buttons by trial and error
  • 💔 Some reviews indicated it was not reliable for long-term use
  • 🔬 Quality control seems inconsistent, as a few reviews mentioned receiving faulty units
  • 🥴 Some users found the joystick to be made of cheap plastic

Should I Buy It?

Given the majority of positive reviews, this product seems to be a good option for those looking for a cost-effective, beginner-friendly joystick. However, if reliability and high-quality materials are your top priorities, it might be worthwhile to consider other options in a slightly higher price range.

  • Impressive! Low Expectations Shattered
I read other reviews knocking on this product. That is not my impression. For the features I get for the price, it is worth every penny to me. To begin, the stick has a solid metal base which gives it a good amount of weight along with a high-end feel. The throttle feels smooth and ergo comfortable. The throttle can work as a standalone item as well as the stick. The real magic, though, lies in the combination of the two devices. There is a USB port on the throttle that, when the stick is plugged into it, opens the ability to use 30+ buttons. (Very useful in VR Fighter games to assign keyboard functions.) A switch on the stick toggles between the 3 modes. The driver in windows detects this setup as "Titanwolf Hotas Bundle." The throttle has 5 buttons, 1 hat, and 2 individual rotating axes (x/y). The stick, of course, has a trigger BUT... under the trigger is Button 2. Pulling the trigger lightly will fire as usual. Pulling it fully will also hit button 2. (I set it for "Target under the reticle" in MechWarrior). Buttons 3 and 4 are the outer red. 5-8 (starting left going clockwise) are set to the cup-shaped 4-way directional pad on the left. To the right is the 8-way HAT. Twisting the stick moves the z-axis. It has a small throttle on the metal base to the left. And last, but not least, is button 9 which is the pinky trigger that can be flipped down to move it out of the way! I originally bought this bundle for the throttle and intended to use it with my other flight stick but the set won me over. If it breaks, I will update my review. But, for now, I am really enjoying it! P.S. I use Joystick Gremlin to get the massive number of buttons working with older games (i.e. MechWarrior 3) as well as fine-tune (curve) axis sensitivity. ... show more

  • Basic HOTAS model, great for a tight budget!
Functions perfectly, feels nice: A good model for beginners. My only complaints are seldom and only apply to my specific wants as a consumer; this is absolutely a good product for you if it fits your criteria! Throttle lacks an indicator/resting point for center-position and makes it slightly difficult to read. The absence of a rudder on the back of the throttle is also slightly disappointing, but the majority of the product is sufficient regardless. ... show more

  • Took a chance on this and so far so good
This is my first HOTAS purchase so I didn't want to get something cheap but I didn't want to spend $400 either. The $150 I spent seems (so far) to be a good investment. I bought this primarily for Elite Dangerous. The bases are metal and the controllers are plastic but they do not feel cheaply made. The stick has holes for mounting to a bracket but the throttle does not. There is no software that comes with the unit so it's pretty much plug-n-play (Windows 10 for me) and the game recognizes all the buttons that I have thus far configured. The stick has a three position selector switch that changes the button ID's so I was able to tailor one set of buttons for nav/mining and another set for combat. I don't normally buy anything that doesn't have any reviews but if you're in the market for a HOTAS system and don't want to shell out mega bucks you won't be disappointed with the Cobra v5. ... show more

  • An okay beginner setup that serves its purpose
This setup works fine for basic beginners. It would have been helpful to have a map of which button is associated with which number, but I had to map all the buttons by trial and error. Manufacturing is low end, but that is reflected in the price point so I can’t say it was unexpected.

  • I can in no way recommend this to anyone
I tried to make this work but in the end I returned it for a refund. First and foremost the electronics in this thing are not satisfactorily engineered, defiantly needs much more filtering, when using one of the pots for zoom it would make my screen start to jump. this could be corrected by changing the position of the potentiometer but why. the same with the joystick, the flight stick in game would vibrate, I was able to stop this by adding a dead zone but found that the stick would then act up and favor either up or down and also left or right. there's more but that should be enough to give you a good idea of what you are getting into if you purchase this HOTAS. ... show more

  • Worth The Price
I had no issues, everything came in the box and wasn't broken. All of the buttons and connections work flawlessly. The only gripe I can think of are the tension adjustment settings. The throttle seems to work slightly but the joystick seems to be there just for show.

  • Cheep joystick.
Had to return due to it being defective. The throttle actually is pretty sturdy and you can adjust the resistance. The base of the joystick is also built like a tank. The problem is the joystick, it’s made of cheep plastic . Mine had a issue with the up and right. Works with Elite.
