I ordered this set of Flameless Candles,with Embedded Star String, Battery Operated Candles Flickering LED Pillar Candles to use on my patio this spring and summer. I recently got another set of flameless candles from Sasigeiaa, and I liked them so much I went back to look for more. The first set ai received was a set of three pillar candles. This is a set of five pillar candles. The two sets look quite similar. Both sets are made of clear plastic, both sets have a warm, white light and a flickering, flameless LED candle inside. We live in NYC, we are lucky to have a tiny sunken patio with a roof that is down a short, steep flight of concrete steps from our yard and up a short, steep flight of concrete stairs from our English basement. There’s not a lot of space, but we just redid it so we could use the patio as an outdoor living room/dining room, and I could use it as an outdoor office. We needed to find lighting solutions for after dark. I tried a variety of things, chargeable lamps, battery operated strings of light, and these Flameless pillar candles. I love how convenient these pillar candles are. They give the effect of candles without the risk of fire. Each candle takes two AA batteries. These run the “candle wick” and the string of tiny fairy lights that wrap around the plastic cylinder holding the “candle”. Do these look exactly like a candle? Well, no, not exactly. Ut they are evocative of candlelight, and I love the safety. These give a warm, white light. There is a flicker effect to the candle wicks, it is gentle and not overwhelming. I get bad migraines, so I have to be careful with flickering and blinking lights. The effect of these candles is soft and soothing, it doesn’t give me a headache. Depending on where these candles sit, they can look different colors. I have them in different places on my patio as I write. The ones that are next to small LED lights look like the acrylic base is a clear white. The glow is a cooler color, because they are picking up the cool light from the nearby lamps. But the candles I have on our bar and on a side table look more golden. They are lit by the string lights on the wall behind them and by their own candles, and the acrylic bases look golden instead of clear. The light from the candle wicks is also a more golden color. The twinkles of lights wrapped around the candles are tiny, but they are a cooler color than the candle wicks. This is a set of five pillar candles. They measure 3”, 4”, 5”, 6”, and 8”. Currently I have them split between the tables on my patio. They are running off batteries in their bases. These also come with a small remote control. It allows you to set timers, adjust the brightness, and make your flame flicker or flicker less. These look quite nice, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Of course they don’t look exactly like a real candle, but they are attractive and have a much more high end feel than I expected from plastic flameless candles. I’m on my patio as I’m writing this, it’s almost 10 p.m. here in NYC, and the warm white glow from the candles is really lovely. You could even call the light romantic. My husband is inside watching “Planet of the Apes” with our teenage son, but I have hopes that later this evening I can get him to join me out here. The fresh air and the candlelight are both pretty and nicely relaxing. I am very pleased with these pillar candles, they are an excellent match to the other set of three pillar candles I recently received from the same company. These battery candles are safe and stylish. I love the warm light they bring to my patio.

I cannot get over how beautiful this particular candle style is - WOW. The delicate lighting in the "candle" section with the "fairy lights" in them combined with the "wax" wick portion just comes together to be so delicate and stunning. I got the "Ivory" ones. I really like this particular color for Christmas. The included remotes (they have 2 included for the 5 candles so you can use the candles together or separately) are easy to use with only a few options - 2h, 4h, 6h, and 8h for the light timers, the modes are either candle or light, and you can dim them or brighten them as well. (The low flickering of the dimmed candle is just exquisite and so romantic, in my opinion!). I really like that you get a variety of heights in this package as well as two remotes, as it gives you endless options for how to use them together or separately. The "candle" portion of this is plastic but with some weight on it. They are definitely bottom-heavy. The "wick" part is "wax"-feeling. The "clear glass" around it is plastic but it's thicker so it really has a classy look to it. Overall this is a good price for an absolutely stunning visual in your dining room, or anywhere else for that matter (think: relaxing bath!). Definitely recommend.

First, the positive observations: These 5 iights are definitely attractive in their outward appearance. They are made of plastic but otherwise seem reasonably durable. They have an on/off switch on the bottom where you install 2 AA batteries (not included) so you will need 10 AA batteries in all. The lights worked out of the box. The light that they give off is very nice and the wrap around iights are easy to turn on and off with the included remotes. 2 remotes are included and they come with batteries already installed. Replacing these watch-type batteries once the original ones eventually fail should prove easy since they have a convenient slide out drawer. The clear red housing is also very attractive and while these lights are fine for all year use, they would especially make nice Christmas lights. Now, for the disappointing aspects. 1. While all the remote functions do work, I discovered that the flickering feature is barely distinguishable from the steady light. At first I wasn't sure it was even working but upon close observation I did realize there is a very subtle difference, but don't expect a level of flickering that is in any way similar to that of an actual candle. It is more of a very slight difference between steady and "flicker" meaning the light would vary softly and slightly in intensity. I would not describe it as a "flicker". It really disappointed me. 2. The dimmer aspect, like the flicker feature, is very subtle. Like with the flicker I was not at first certain that any dimming was actually occurring but with repeated checking I did notice that it did diminish somewhat. For me, I expected a greater level of dimming and brightening. Perhaps I expected too much but the reality is that I was not impressed. 3. For the most part the instructions really are not needed, Functions are pretty self-explanatory but if you want to review instructions be prepared for a single very small piece of paper with tiny writing. All in all, these are not bad lights but I found the features to be somewhat functional but pretty disappointing.
