These shorts accomplish that and they are so well made in every respect, have excellent features, and very comfortable to wear. I had heard of Fjallraven but this is the first of their products that I purchased. They are expensive, but the quality is excellent. You get what you pay for. Very stretchy for stepping up or big movements. Breathable but because of that it doesn’t hold odors in very well like some other fjallraven products do.

Definitely my go-to shorts for hiking in warmer weather. I like the pockets locations (no back pockets). The front zip pockets added security of your phones and wallets.

Just received these, and so far, they look, feel and fit great. I plan on wearing them for my upcoming 3-day backpacking trip, and I'll update this post if anything changes (which I do not expect). I highly recommend going to the manufacturers website and cross referring European sizes with US sizes, as they are sized difelferently. I wear a 31" jeans, and ordered a size 48 which is a bit larger for me, but I think better fitting than the size 46 would have been. ... show more

Excellent pair of shorts. Well made and pockets well placed. Items feel secure inside them. Caught out in the rain once already and glad to report they dry quick. Tried out this brand because Arc'teryx stopped making the style I liked (have one last pair which are still my favorite shorts but these may just be my new favorites). .....make sure you go on the manufacturers website though to double check your sizing, these shirts wear very well for hiking or cycling and have good secure zipper pockets so you don't lose what you wanted to keep in your pocket!
