  • Great
Color: Antenna+Kit
Easy assembly and great picture quality. Stations here are roughly 60 miles away and come in crystal clear.. My only issue, like many reading the reviews is the antenna positioning. You have to see the antenna to move it , you need a spotter.. After being unable to fine tune antenna, I down loaded an antenna position app ( antenna point )and went up moved it by hand and that's where it stayed.. Forget moving with the remote... ... show more

  • Show me the gain
Color: Antenna+Kit+Pole
Five star antenna. Have owned a number of the lava style antennas. The construction of this one is the best. No thin metal front fins and plastic deflectors that birds land on and bend or break. Easy assembly and installation. Downside of all of them including this one is the flimsy rotators where they attach don't stand up to the typical Kansas tropical storm force winds we usually have which makes them wiggle back and forth until the rotor breaks. They have enough play that the bounce back and forth making the signal fade in and out. The rotator is too hard to fine tune the aim point. I prefer to turn the pole by hand. Bottom line is the antenna gain and the more the better. This one like all the others says 17db to 35db gain. Not sure this one gets the signal gain that others do. I am a ham radio operator and know a little about antennas. All the stations I want to get from Wichita are at the most 45 miles by line of sight. I get some but not all. Don't get mislead by the miles of estimated range. It depends on line of sight so antenna height along with no obstructions so how high the transmitter is on the tower coupled with the height of this antenna makes a difference while also allowing for the curvature of the earth makes a difference in the signal. Also depends upon the transmitter power as most of these local big city tv stations only use the cheaper lower power transmitters put up on shorter antennas so they typically only have enough signal strength to cover the metropolitan area although PBS stations tend to have more since they are set up to cover rural areas as well. Finally, reception of any strength broadcast signal depends upon the construction of the antenna arrays and how much signal boost is generated so without an expensive signal tester I can't say I am getting 35db gain or not. I did have to add a GE powered splitter to get the signal to the tv's in the house which I didn't need with the prior lava style antenna. Time will tell if it holds up. On the good side this one came with tie wraps and a clamp to hold the cable in place below the connection. My last lava style one had the connector break at the solder joint so I took it apart and resoldered it but it broke again. Just make sure you screw the very small screws in all the way in the house because they make threads in the plastic as they screw in so it will hopefully avoid dropping one while on the roof installing them. I will keep adjusting this one to see if I can get rid of the annoying regular signal breaks that I didn't have on my lava style antennas for the closer signals. ... show more

  • Great if you have clear view and can get it high enough
Color: Antenna+Kit+Pole
We first mounted this on our deck, it would pick up about the same amount of channels as the flat plastic antennas you can purchase. However, my husband put it on a pole instead of attaching on the roof, but at the roof level, and it works great. I am finally able to pick up the 1 channel I honestly purchased it for because I missed watching my shows on that channel. We do not pay for cable as there is no need, we don't watch tv enough and you can stream just about everything but I love having the regular local channels again. ... show more

  • True reception capability & amplification working well as it says.
Color: Antenna+Kit
Everything that was mentioned about this antenna was pretty accurate. I can't verify the capable distance but I can verify that I picked up the local channels from 60 miles away from down a valley The house I set up the antenna. I had it on a 20ft pole. I received from Galena, MO. Picked up Springfield, Mo, Branson, Mo & some from Fayetteville, Ar. THE DOWN SIDE IS YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT DIRECTION THE ANTENNA FRONT END IS HEADED WITHOUT LOOKING OUTSIDE TO SEE WHICH DIRECTION IT IS POINTING. ... show more

  • Cheaper Quality than Expected (& Upon 'First Glance'!)
Color: Antenna+Kit+Pole
I bought this antenna system mostly because I lost my cable service and needed to establish OTA broadcast reception to continue TV viewing. This particular product package was 'on sale' and seemed to be a higher version of similar antenna products. The product pkg had included additional components to provide enhanced reception capability. But upon opening & attempting assembly I soon learned that the product manufacture was of a 'lower quality' and construction! The main problem upon assembly was the 'poor grammar' used in the assembly instruction manual! They clearly 'outsourced' the writing & printing of the manual to a non-English speaking country with very poor grammar skills in English translation! Manual should have been written by someone with 'good English language skills'. It was very hard to interpret the instructions for each assembly step making it quite difficult to follow the procedure and have confidence that the product would be properly assembled! Eventually I figured it out and successfully assembled the antenna according to the 'poorly-written' instructions! No product sold in America should subject their customer to such initial aggravation upon purchase of their product! Anyway I then went about connecting the antenna to my HDTV with the provided cable and brought the antenna outside (but not attached to the roof/house) to see if I could receive a signal. I only got a few channels and nothing I would be interested in watching! So I will soon attempt to mount the antenna on my garage roof to get the best possible signal at my MA residence. I am Not Confident that I will receive the OTA channels & broadcasts that I had 'hoped for'. If not, I will have to return this product to then invest in 'streaming options' to consider. Digital broadcast conversion was not a 'good thing' for many older citizens/TV viewers who can remember when TV broadcast reception was "free" thanks to on-air commercials! Now TV viewing costs are "through the roof"...but 'not the signal'!😣 In today's world the broadcast signal is 'weaker' (on purpose to keep cable/sat carrier charges high!)...and the TV reception equipment is 'weaker/cheaper' as well! This product is proof!👎 ... show more
