    • Tape measure and thimble are useless but the needles are nice & sharp
After ordering several sets of needles that come in fancy wooden cases and discovering the best thing about the orders were the fancy wooden cases, I am happy to announce these needles in this not at all fancy case actually work. They are sharp and thin and work exactly as one expects needles to work; meaning they easily penetrate cloth. The tape measure on the other hand is good to use as a tie for bundling fat quarters of quilting fabric because the measurements are completely off. As for the thimble, I have small, petite fingers and I could not get my pointer finger inside the thimble. It's like it was made for a ten year old child. For this price, a decent kit. Sure you could find better for more money, but this is mostly a bargain. There are two caveats though. The thimble, while it gets the job done, is made from some rather thin aluminum. But whatever, as infrequently as I will be using a thimble it’s just fine. And the real problem comes with the soft tape measure. It is off by quite a margin over distance compared to my usual measuring devices. So I guess be very careful here. And use your best judgment. Preferably to keep and use the same measuring tool throughout an entire project! ... show more

    • Very nice set of needles
I was impressed by how nice this set is. It comes in a very sturdy box that holds the three 'sets' of needles, a tape measure, a thimble, threaders and a stich 'puller'. I can't imagine any sewing project that would require a needle that isn't in this set. Overall, I'm very pleased.

This is a great set with tons of needles! They seem to be decent quality, with no aluminum coating coming off, like with some needles I’ve used recently.

    • A great assortment of needles
What a great collection of needles this is. I will never have to buy another needle in my life. Long needles, short needles, needles with big eyes and needles with small eyes, specialty needles. If I thought a needle was just a needle, I have a lot to learn. There are different needles for embroidery, needlepoint, darning, etc. There are also two devices to help you thread a needle, and lately I need all the help I can get. I can still thread a needle, but sometimes it takes more attempts than I want to admit. These needle threading devices are a gift. I can't instruct you in how to use these different needles, but it's great to have them all here, and in an attractive package. You will no longer have an excuse for wearing a shirt with a missing button (unless you can't find the button.) ... show more

I used these needles to sew a button back on my husband's shorts and to sew the opening closed on a pillow I made. The needles are sharp and smooth.
