  • Had one month shy of 2 years
Color: Lunar White/Soft Gold
Update: After just under 2 years, my watch died. Fortunately I had purchased the 3-year warranty. Filed my claim, received return label immediately, and I'm shipping it tomorrow. They will send gift card as soon as they receive it. I've already ordered Fitbit Charge 6. Ordered yesterday morning and it's all set up and on my wrist. It only offers two year warranty. I guess that's as long as they last. I had a great deal of difficulty getting watch to set up. Finally, I called for tech help. The tech I got had me go through all the procedures I had already tried with no results. Not once did he suggest I verify my phone settings. He had warranty department email options to me. One was replacement watch at 50% off. Why would I have to pay for replacement for new watch?!!! I replied with a nasty email. I was starting to box it up when I decided to double-check my phone settings. It was set to automatically switch to Hotspot if WiFi is weak. I turned that off. Finally the app was able to set up my watch. As to the watch: I love it! That's why I give it five stars. It does everything I was looking for in a smartwatch and more. Also, the availability of easy-to-change bands contributed to my choosing this watch. The watch itself is beautiful. I love the soft gold color. At this point, I am extremely satisfied with my watch, but pray I never have to use customer service again. ... show more

  • Pleasantly Surprised After This Stopped Working
Color: Lunar White/Soft Gold
I purchased my Fitbit Charge 5 in September 2022. I loved it immediately. I started with the Charge 4 and simply wore it out. Imagine my disappointment when, just two days ago, my just nine month old Charge 5 completely stopped working! It would not hold a charge. It would not connect. Nothing! I worked through all the troubleshooting ideas and even Googled how to solve issues with the Charge 5 and it simply died. I thought for sure I was done in. To my great and very pleasant surprise, I contacted Fitbit Support through the My Orders page on Amazon and not only was my Fitbit still under the manufacturers warranty, I immediately received a replacement offer email and ordered my replacement... all of this happened in less than 30 minutes. I love my Fitbit. I love Amazon. I love Fitbit Support. I HATE being without my Fitbit and I am very happy they were so incredibly professional and wonderful to remedy the problem. Well done Amazon. Well done Fitbit! ... show more

  • Fitbit Support is an extremely negative experience.
Color: Lunar White/Soft Gold
If you buy this device, hope that you don't need to engage with Fitbit Support. They'll run you in circles and won't resolve your problem, or worse, point you to Help articles that are already out-of-date or otherwise impossible to use. The device itself is alright. The onboard GPS never seems to acquire a signal, so that hurts the "Accuracy" score, but otherwise it's performant with a long battery life. Sleep Tracking seems to work fine, but the heart-rate signals aren't reliable, so that hurts that score, too. Here are the Big Bad experiences I've had with it: 1. The Android app is buggy. Sync sometimes stops working. Sometimes connection to the Fitbit is lost mid-activity. 2. In 2020 and 2016, the calorie tracking software completely broke during the Leap Year and it took the team two weeks to fix it 3. Summary information in the app, such as "grams of protein per day", is blatantly wrong. The chart will show some absurd number like "500g protein 1200g fat 800g carbs" on a day when all I had was a couple protein shakes. The data isn't even consistent between data-views. 4. Traveling across time-zones causes all sorts of issues with tracking, especially if you change time zones into another day (e.g., red eye flight.) Calorie and step data will end up on the wrong days, or multiply duplicated. Kind of weird that a watch company can't tell time, right? The biggest deal breaker for me, though, is how hard it is to engage Fitbit Support. In email correspondences they have been snarky and unhelpful. There are issues across their product line all over the Forums that never get clear responses from the company, let alone fixes, despite being open for 6+ months. I recommend finding another brand. ... show more

  • Very comfortable band if you don't need a smartwatch
Color: Lunar White/Soft Gold
The Fitbit Charge 5 is a great fitness tracker/semi-smartwatch option for those that don't need a full-on smartwatch (or their awful battery life). This guy gets worn 24/7, and I only charge once (maybe twice) per week while I'm in the shower. Yep, about a 30 minute charge for at least 5 days of life. Craziness! I primarily use it to track my steps on my wrist, and I use the app to calculate calories burned each day. I can't comment on the accuracy of the tracker since I don't anything else to compare to, but I feel it's accurate enough for me. I also like tracking my sleep, and most of the sleep info is nice to see. However, that brings me to an aspect I wish I had more options with: SP02% during sleep. See, I have sleep apnea and part of that ailment is having a low levels of O2 during sleep. This tracker and app only provide a graph of SPO2% CHANGES while asleep (the variability of SPO2). It doesn't actually reveal the PERCENTAGE as a number. Bummer! I feel like that's something a future app update might accomplish, but who knows. The watch itself is nice and bright and very easy to read in all conditions except uber bright sunlight. The included silicon band is very comfortable and adjustable enough to fit my wide, thick wrists. I give it high-marks for wearability. It's also just smart enough to not make me jealous of a true smartwatch: notification mirroring, built-in Spotify and Bluetooth for headphones, changeable faces, downloadable apps, etc. Overall, I feel like this is probably the best non-smartwatch/fitness tracker on the market. ... show more
