I searched all my local pet stores and then pages of cat trees on the internet before I settled on this one via Amazon. Price, size, and options (different sitting areas, hidey hole, scratching spots) were the main reason for my choice. I am quite happy with it as are my (2) 3month old kittens! I found it easy to put together (took maybe15 mins using just the hex key they provided), sturdy (they've been rambunctiously leaping on and off it with no issues) and with it's smaller size (36" tall I think) easy to move about and also doesn't take up too much space in my small house. My kittens each weigh between 3-4lbs and this fits them perfectly. I know at some point they'll outgrow it, but I can see it being well used for several months, maybe even years to come. Putting this cat tree together was a fond bonding experience for me and my family member, and our little cat had a lot of fun waiting around to see what we were building. Assembly was easy and pretty straightforward, really just fastenening a few things together - It was up and ready within 30 minutes. A very speak and unassuming piece of furniture that is not gaudy, it blends in well with most decor and is not overly "in your face." However, while it looks nice, it is a LOT smaller than I expected it to be. It is best suited for a very small cat, or kittens - A larger cat may not be able to enjoy the tree fully, as it is very light weight and not particularly "sturdy." It can easily be knocked down during rambunctious play, and aspects of the tree are not built for function- The small circular tunnel beneath the top platform is useless, as an adult cat could not fit inside of it. However, my cat still has fun with it and it can fit inside of my small bedroom without any issue. Ideal for smaller cats- Or small spaces. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Assembly was easy after a false start caused by my not reading the instructions the first attempt. While my kitten loves the plush material, I am skeptical about it because the few times it got wet it took a long time to dry. Since this is in my screen enclosed patio that can be a problem when it rains, which it frequently does. When it arrived my kitten was about two months old. He wouldn't go near it other than to satisfy his curiosity regarding what mysteriously appeared in his territory. When he grew to five pounds ten weeks later he has started using it, as well as sleeping on the bottom and middle platforms. He will poke his head in the hide area from time-to-time, but has no interest in that or the very top platform. But he LOVES the scratching posts and attacking the fluffy ball. Despite his rambunctious actions and his weight he has yet to topple the tree, although he is getting a little too large to stretch out across the middle tier. This is definitely for kittens, and although mine will soon outgrow it, I think it's money well spent. ... show more

I just put it together and it took me over two hours. The instructions weren’t great so here you go: there are three legs that go inside the igloo at the bottom. Put those in first. Then connect that piece to the base and build up from there. Order is important here! The open circle part is much too small for an adult cat. I’m thinking of removing it so she can have more room on the level surface. I thought it would take my cat a few days to get used to this but she was literally crawling on top of me to get in it while I put it together and when I finished she climbed to the top and went to sleep. my 2 months old Coalby loves his new cat tower, he started playing on it as soon as I finished assembling it. I would say it’s pretty sturdy, but I always put it next to a wall or somewhere that the cat tree won’t fall anytime. It’s good quality for its price as well. We purchased this cat post knowing it was small and it was exactly as we needed it to be. We recently found some stray kittens and they’re finally at the stage of playing and climbing but we didn’t want to get a large post for them. This was perfect. It’s small enough for 5 week old kittens (pictures) with plenty of height and activity for them grow and use. This post was easy to put together and is very sturdy. We do have two older cats (9yr and 4 years, both weight 18lbs) and there is no way this can handle the weight or size of my adult cats. Still that’s not important as I bought this for kittens. I mention just in case someone who also has large cats might be interested. Unfortunately, this simply isn’t the post for the big kitties. My only complaint with this product is that the fabric of mine looked to have a little blood or maybe rust stains on it. I sprayed it with alcohol and hoped for the best. Hopefully that’s enough to kill off whatever may be on it. ... show more
