    • BEWARE Multiple Alarms Malfunction

When one completely fails (I’m talking would not stop going off even though none of the other ones were) you deactivate it and think, “oh it’s just a bad one. I’ll replace it and get another”. And then it happens again. Complete failure and need to deactivate it to stop for no apparent reason. You think “ok two bad ones so I’ll buy the more expensive version, it should be more reliable.” And then one of those goes off randomly in the night, giving you a heart attack. “Ok maybe this one is might be buggy but the other bedroom works fine.” Until it starts doing it too. Listen if it were a consistent room, consistent model, or consistent environmental situation (smoke in the area, etc) I would think there was an explanation. But when you move it and it keeps going off next to another one that’s not going off, well now it feels like I’ve been swindled with a worthless product. ... show more

This detector is too sensitive and when it started going off I couldn't silence it and finally simply pulled down until one of the wires pulled loose. How much too sensitive, I'm not sure. It went off in the middle of the night (the only time these things ever go off) while there was nothing unusual happening and even after opening windows and starting a high volume fan, it just kept going. Of course, there is no adjustment because the manufacturer is so much smarter than we are. ... show more
