  • Great investment especially if towing with
Size: 2015-2026
I had to come back and review this, I bought these back in March of 2022. They are still working fantastic. Yes it does stiffen up the normal day to day driving a little bit, but you get used to it. The install was pretty straight forward and easy, the toughest part is lining up the tubing without bending or kinking. But there is plenty of tubing if you do mess up here and there. I’ve had them up to around 80 psi and a trailer loaded to around 8000lbs and it absolutely helps!. 2018 F150 xlt. Fantastic investment especially for the cost. I’ve seen others get really pricey. This one is basic, you have to fill the air with an external air source. I use a portable inflator and it works just fine. ... show more

  • Highly recommend for any truck if you tow anything!
Size: 2015-2026
Use the instructions as a guideline only! Most important is the final check section at the end. Instructions said use the spacer for a 2WD truck which is WRONG! I imagine it should have stated 4WD truck since they are spaced up about 1 1/2". The best part of the instructions is at the end to do your final checks. At ride height you need 5 1/2 - 6 1/2" and at least 5 psi for it to work correctly!! This will make your life easier and your experience / ride quality much better! 2WD with spacers rode terrible but only had 4" with the upper brackets in the lower holes. Removed spacers, good to go. Added 11/2" lowering shackles to level the truck, same thing - raised the upper bracket to get over 5" of bag at ride height and perfect again! Now best of both worlds, truck is level at ride height and can add air as need for load. Ride is better than stock with 6 psi in the bags. This is a must do add to any truck if you tow or haul in my opinion. Great price for the value. Easy to install (with a little common sense added). Oh and this is the fourth truck I have added them to but this time I used a tee in the air line and only have one air fitting on the back instead of the two. I see ZERO down side and only simpler operation!! Just get a tee off of amazon made for air suspension or on board air kits. ... show more

  • So far so good.
Haven't put the camper on the truck yet, but it seems to be working just fine. Having a 2" leveling kit on my 2012 F150, this was a must to get back to level when pulling my 28' travel trailer. Installation was fairly easy, and the directions were ok. You can also find video's online showing you how to install, which were a big help. I found the hardest part of the install was the bolts going into the side of the frame. The kit comes with these little square "paddles" that you have to insert thru a small hole in the inner part of the frame. These "paddles" have a threaded hole thru the center that you have to screw the bolt into. The are basically the nut for the bolt, only in a large square with a handle. The best tip from the online video I found is a must: BEND THE PADDLE HANDLE BEFORE YOU TRY PUTTING IT IN THE FRAME! You stand a chance at losing the paddle inside your frame if you don't! Plus, tho it is possible to install this by yourself (passenger side of my truck was much easier due to no brake lines in the way), it is a good idea to have someone help you. In particular, for those of you doing this on your backs in your driveway like I did. Those bolts thru the side of the frame were a real pain! Unless you really need side to side leveling, go out and grab yourself a 1/4" OD "T". I am not positive where to buy the "gator bite" type fitting like as used in the kit, as my dad grabbed me some from his work. A regular compression fitting should work as well since that is what I have used on a previous vehicle I owned that had air shocks on it. I have yet to mount my valve stem, as I am not sure where I want it yet, tho I have seen a couple great ideas. One of the best, was to drill out the hole thru one of your lower license plate mount holes, or I suppose thru each if you don't want to join the lines with a "T" fitting. I still need to check if there is room next to the fuel fill tube, as I believe hiding the valve stem behind the fuel door would be best. ... show more

  • Great air bags
Size: 2015-2026
We install 2 sets of these air bags on a 2016 2WD and a 2018 4WD Ford F-150 trucks. Some tips on the install, you'll need a regular and deep 9/16" sockets and end wrench for installing the system and 1/2" socket with an extension to remove the stock bumper. When bolting the air spring to it mounting plate, choose the front set of mounting holes so the air spring is closest to the front of the truck. Definitely bend the handles on the blind nut plates to 45 degrees for installation. The manual shows installing these nut plates with the bend handles in same direction, but easier to install them crossing the handles. I would suggest installing the right or passenger side first as there are no brakes lines interfering with your access to the inside hole in the frame you need to insert these nut plates through. Installing the upper mounting plate is the hardest part to do. Easier to do when you use the bumper bolt to loosely hold up the upper mounting plate in place first before installing the two bolts holding the mounting plate to the frame. On the 2016, we had to bend up the front factory flanges on the U bolt guides so we could get the bottom air spring bracket was in line with the top air spring bracket. On the 2016 we had to cut an opening in the plastic wheel liners so the air bags did not rub on them and have an easier time installing the upper air spring bracket. On the 2018 the inner fender does not extend down like the 2016 and does not need to be cut. Had a defective angle air fitting and contacted Customer Service for a replacement and same day they sent me the fitting. With 5 psi in the bags, no change in the "ride." The air bags worked great pulling a 24' enclosed trailer from CA to TX. Leveled the truck with no problem @ 50 psi. ... show more

  • Works great
Size: 2015-2026
The install is straightforward. I didn't take off the wheels, remove the spare, move the brake lines, or even jack up the truck. There was enough room for me to do the install without it, although it's tight and you will have a much easier time if you do some or all of those things. You will need a deep 14mm socket for the bolts included in the kit. The bolt holding my bump stop to the frame -- which you reuse for this kit -- was actually 1/2 inch, and you'll need a deep socket there too. I didn't have one, but the 14mm socket fit well enough for hand tools. Don't use something like an impact driver unless you have the exact right size socket, though. You'll round off the bolt if you do. Before screwing the fittings into the airbags, figure out which direction is "front" and which is "back." Unless you have specific plans in mind already, you want the fittings to be pointing toward the back of your truck. You don't need to tighten the fittings like crazy. The threads are taped so they will hold and be airtight if hand-tightened. If you back out the fitting, you either need to go a full extra turn around, or reapply tape. You don't want to discover a leak around the fitting when the kit is installed. Once installed, they work great. As high as 10psi there is no noticeable difference to ride quality vs. stock except when going over speed bumps. I bought the kit because the stock rear suspension is too squishy when towing a heavy travel trailer, even with a properly set up weight distributing hitch. With the trailer on the WDH and 30psi on the bags, everything was still level but the rear suspension was vastly improved. It was immediately noticeable. Most people run 50psi but at that pressure my trailer was nose-up and I didn't feel like redoing the WDH to correct it. The reason for the 4-star rating is that the threads on the U-bolts don't seem to match the threads on the nuts. Or maybe it's designed that way to keep the nuts from backing out, I don't know. With my regular handheld socket wrench I'd get them a couple turns, and then they'd bind so hard that it needed all my strength to get them to move even a tiny fraction of a turn. I ended up buying a right-angle adapter for my electric impact driver. That actually had an even harder time turning the nuts. What I'd do is drive the nut until it froze, then back it out maybe 1/8 turn. At that point it would go maybe 1/4 turn before seizing again. Lather, rinse, repeat. It ended up taking me close to 4 hours to get the U-bolts secured, but I spent probably half that time trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. There's only one type of nut included in the kit, so I couldn't have been using the wrong kind. With a long-handle wrench (which would require removing the wheels) or a high-torque impact driver it would probably have taken no more than 15 minutes. ... show more

  • ***Hints For Your Install
Size: 2015-2026
I ordered Ride-Rite Air Spring system from Firestone, delivered from FedEx [box was slightly damaged on outside inside fine]... Ordered on Sunday, got it on Wednesday, I installed it on Thursday. On My 2017 Ford F-150 V8 SuperCrew cab...4x4... No Drilling, or special tools required... Even the air hose bracket is no drill... You will need a 9/16" end wrench, and 9/16" socket and extensions- The KIT has everything you will need I had tyraps left over, and the 2WD adapter Side one, took me 2 hours... Helpful Hints for you- ***The bump stop bolt in a 2017 is a 1/2" socket, with short extension needed to remove...single bolt up inside of stop...this hole will be used on the upper bracket ***Also, the Frame Hole Brackets [They -4- look like a flat spoon, with a center hole] which are basically the backing and female bolt hole for your top to frame bracket... ***Got a small magnet? If you have a small magnet to grip them [unless you have triple jointed alien fingers 9" long] to hold them in place while you grab and thread in bolt. ***If I had a third arm it would have helped. ***I used a small dab of silicon seal to hold frame hole bracket in place...these go inside of frame, and slide in through hole in frame... Side two took about an hour... that included running air lines-then nice tyrap 90 degree bracket for schrader valves which mount sweet to hitch cross bar. I rate my mechanical abilities at a 7 out of 10... If you rate yourself over a three you can do it... It would have been easier on a lift at a garage... [then it would have been a 1.5/2 hour job...] Seriously, no drilling.... Only thing I would have on hand, is 9/16" tools, silicon, 1/2" socket, and a small magnet was very helpful for me...I could not have done it without magnet-well I could have but there would have possibly been cursing, and tears, and another couple of hours of work... ... show more

  • Great bags, perfect for application
Size: 2015-2026
I installed these bags on a 2015 F150 3.5L Ecoboost. The truck rides great from the factory but sags with the slightest amount of weight in the bed or on a trailer. I tried Timbrens and although they are a decent product the negatively effected the ride and I pulled them off. I purchased the Firestone bags & paired it with an Air Lift Wireless One on board compressor and couldn't be happier. The ride is not effected and the bags fill and empty quick as needed. I ride with 5lbs as instructed with no issues. I haven't had a chance to put a large load behind the truck yet but I will return and update the review if towing anything heavy drops my rating. As of right now they are as advertised, easy to install, and a solid product all around UPDATE 1/29/2020: I hauled an 11,000lbs load with my half ton truck and was able to level out the load safely with the bags. They enhanced stabilization and handling and made me a lot more comfortable pulling the big load. 5 stars all around. ... show more
