I found these fire bricks to be durable and easy to work with for a wood stove ash grate. We use a fireplace grate in our wood stove because it makes the fire light and burn easier than if in the bottom of the wood stove in the ashes that build up. However the temperatures inside the wood stove deteriorate a steel grate in less than one season and it was becoming expensive, these thin ceramic tiles are much more heat resistant. I also went to the extra step of drilling three breather holes through them with diamond tile hole saws for even better breathing. Hoping this will extent the life of our fire grates to several seasons.

Some of the bricks had a slight curve to them, so if you need them exactly straight it could be an issue. Im using them loose to "line" a metal bbq grill for skewers. Wanted a DIY yakitori grill on the cheap, Lol. Still giving 5 stars because they all lined up for me fine even with the slight curvature. And with clay brick, you can't expect perfection.

I am very disappointed in these bricks, I used them in my gas pottery kiln and with a rating of 3000F I didn't think it would be a problem. Due to these bricks warping it caused a few of my pieces to fall on each other and the glaze melted them together. I only went to cone 06 (really a little lower, reached about 16,1700) I will attach images soon
