Update: June 1, 2023 I’m still in love with this case from Fintie. My previous one, #Z Jungle Night, had so many miles on it that it was wearing out, nothing broke other than the elastic band became too loose & I cut it off. The case itself still did the job, but the whole thing looked pretty worn out (well loved?) after a few years of very hard use, and I wanted a new case for an upcoming trip. And this was a reward to myself for completing a very difficult task. On to my new case: color #Brown. This looks and feels like nice leather, when leather was common to have on products way back in ancient times (as my son would say lol) even tho it’s missing that leather smell. It’s gorgeous, does the same great things I commented on below. My iPad 5th Gen is a nice snug fit, and I know it’s well protected. I love it and highly recommend recommend this case. * * * * * I love this brand. Love the swivel design, love how I can slouch on the sofa, have the iPad facing me at the front my knees/lap and hook the rest over the back of my knees. It twirls & whirls to my command, landscape, portrait, or somewhere in between, and my iPad stays firmly in place. I’ll slump over to the side & it hangs off one leg w/o complaint. The outer skin’s beginning to crack a little around the hinges, but considering the miles on it, I have no complaints. Have one on my iPad Pro v1 after trying several different brands & styles that either never held up or failed to do what I needed, until finally glomming onto the Fintie Rotating Case. Highly recommend this brand & style, just be sure to check that your machine matches before ordering to avoid being disappointed. Edit to add: for the slipping out of groove problem that some have mentioned, I solved this by placing a strip of double sticky tape in both grooves & pressed it down hard. It works very well and when cat hair & cookie crumbs renders it non-stick, I pull it up & replace it.

I’ve only had this case for a little over a week or so. But so far this is the best tablet case I’ve had. My old case warped and bent to where the tablet wouldn’t stand up using the case alone as the grooves became too shallow and unaligned. So I was looking for something more study that supports the tablet on its own. This case is way more durable. The grooves for the tablet to stand up using the case are much deeper and lined with a nonslip felt kind of material. The ability to rotate between landscape and portrait mode is also awesome. The case actually holds up very well in portrait mode and stays standing - even when it’s in my lap and not necessarily on a flat table. Easy and compact to travel and fits nicely in my bag. Also nice to be able to carry my pencil with the tablet and it stays secure. The only downside I’ve noticed so far is the lack of camera protection. The camera lens on the back is exposed with this case so I am mindful of the lens getting scratched or cracked. It can also be a little difficult to get the pencil out of the case. The pencil is secure between the iPad magnet and the narrow section of the case so I’m not worried about losing it. But I have to use a pen or something small to lift the edge of the pencil enough to get it out of the case as it’s too narrow to use my finger to dislodge it. If you’re gentle with your device, this is a good buy. The picture attached is portrait/vertical layout while resting on some pillows and my leg and it is standing steady.

This cover works adequately for my iPad 12” - but the longer I use it, the more I want to find something better. It is very well-made, the quality of materials is good, it looks very nice and professional, it provides good protection for my iPad and has a convenient storage slot for the stylus. Problem is, in daily use, small quirks are becoming annoying. It only has two positions for standing horizontally - it needs a more upright position. When using horizontally the slots that hold it in position are not deep enough, so when I touch something near the top of my screen the iPad slips out of the slot and plops down flat on the table…. annoying! Vertical positioning is next to useless. The slightest touch near the top of the screen in vertical position and…. PLOP!!! Down flat again. Plus there’s no indentation in either of the positioning slots to accommodate a charging cord - I use a right-angle plug on my charging cord, and even that will not catch in one of the two positioning slots so you absolutely can not use the case conveniently while charging (unless you flip the vertical position upside down so the charging port is on top (which causes even more mis-balance in the vertical position - causing an even more sensitive trigger to the dreaded PLOP!!!) I’m definitely shopping for a replacement case with less annoying quirks during day-to-day use. To finish on a positive note - the case is well made, looks nice, and protects the iPad when closed.
