I'm happy to say that I finally found the perfect case for my Kindle 7" HD. I wanted one that provided enough protection but also would be light enough to hold in one hand. The first one I purchased was the Marware Revolve Genuine Leather Rotating, Standing Case for Kindle Fire HD 7" which is a very nice soft leather case but it almost doubled the weight of the Kindle mainly because of the inner hard plastic insert that contains the Kindle. If you're using your Kindle mainly for watching movies or using it in the standup position, this is the one to get. But it's much too heavy to hold in one hand to read or play games. The second one I bought was the Belkin Genuine Leather Standing Case for Kindle Fire HD 7". This was also a nice case and lighter than the Marware but I thought I could still find one that would be light enough to hold without having an aching hand and arm after 30 min. So I tried one more, the Fintie Kindle Fire HD 7" (Previous Generation) Slim Fit Leather Case with Auto Sleep/Wake. This is the winner, at least in my opinion. It is light enough yet offers enough protection for my Kindle. It also fit the Kindle better than the Belkin. The Belkin had four triangular corners that the Kindle had to wedge into whereas the Fintie had a pocket that the Kindle slides into. All three had the necessary output holes but only the Fintie had small holes for the speakers. Also, the Fintie has a hole in the side so that the Kindle can be charged with the cover closed. The only drawback is that the Fintie only has one standup position where the others have 3. Not a concern for me however as I doubt if I will be watching a movie with my Kindle. I am very satisfied with the one standup position. The Sleep/Wake is another nice feature the Fintie has and others don't. You also have to love the choices of colors the Fintie comes in. I got the black one but at $10, I just might get a couple more with other colors which is another selling point....the price. This is the one to get if you plan on holding the Kindle with one hand to read or play games or if you're just looking for an overall great case for a Kindle 7" HD.

My kindle was purchased in 2012 and is still working! However, finding a case for it proved to be a challenge. I came across this case and knew it would be perfect and I was not disappointed. Color is nice and like the feel of it. If you have an older style kindle I would definitely recommend this case.

This was a good price and it works fine and looks really nice and I think it feels like it will protect my kindle from damage if it was dropped. Not in an extreme drop from like a long ways up but in regular use. The stand works well. Within a day or two of having it and putting a stylus into the little elastic holder on the side it started to fray and seems like it will continue to do so but I've been cutting it as it goes.. Still good for what I paid. **I wanted to update this review now that we have had it for almost a year and say that I no longer use any stylus with my kindle so I don't use the holder and it is in fine shape and stopped fraying. I can't say what the state of it would be were I still using it but the actual case is great. It has held up so well, still looks new, my 2 & 4 year olds have put it through the ringer and it sees a lot of use in our family and it still looks like new, doesn't have any wear on it that you could see and the stand has held up very well and is easy to operate for the girls so I really am glad I bought this. It is definitely worth more than I paid.

Let's face it, a Kindle is hard to hold without a case. Unless you plan to constantly be clutching the thing in your hand, you are definitely going to need a case to either prop it up or to keep it from slipping through your fingers. I bought this case because it was economical and it had the same design features as a case I had on my other Kindle. (And I liked the purple color.) So why only the four stars? After about six months the rubber edging on the case began to fade but only around the plug-in edge. Anyone who's ever owned a purse that has a waxy or rubber protection around the seams knows what I'm talking about. After a time, this edging begins to fade and peel away particularly with continuous use or friction. And when the case sits on its flat side the rubber begins to wear and fade faster. When this happens, the edging the rubber was covering begins to unravel. This isn't to say that the stitching comes apart; it is simply an observation about the construction of the case. As I said this happens to many purses and wouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who's ever witnessed it before; it certainly didn't surprise me. What surprised me is that it took six months of almost constant use for it to happen. This was a good thing. Overall this is an excellent case, it holds my Kindle up, and protects it when I am and I'm not using it. I would, and have, recommended it.

I didn't think I was going to like, but, wow , that's a good cover. I chose the black one. I really do love how it holds my kindle in the case. Charging is very easy also. Buy one if you don't like send back and purchase another

I really like this case, don't get me wrong! It is light weight, fits perfectly, and actually looks like you paid more than $15 on it. The stylus holder works for a thicker stylus(may be to big for skinny stylus). The color selection is pretty impressive (I got the purple that is pretty true to ad) and overall it feels well made. The auto wake/sleep works perfectly and is stays closed well. However, here are the few annoyances. 1. No way to hold it open so you are kind of having to manipulate it so that the flap that holds it up for viewing doesn't flap. I hold it with my left hand so that flap opens sometimes when reading. Again, just annoying. 2. Because it is a camera right case, some apps open upside down so you have to flip that kindle over. Again, not a big deal AT ALL, just a touch annoying (what is the point of the opening like a book when you still need to flip it over for a lot of apps?) 3. If it had a little strap or something, like some other cases, to help hold it when you are doing other things than reading it would make this case perfect. Overall, for the price you are getting a very nicely made case and most people will really enjoy it. The things most people do with a kindle will not be infringed upon. Works for a basic case. I don't know if this will be THE case, I may get something else.... in the future. For now, it works
