I have been using these for several months now, so far only with freestyle (haven’t tried the other strokes since that’s not really what I’m training for anymore). They are not too big to put strain on your shoulders but big enough to have an effect. The paddles are comfortable and will start to slip if your entry or hand position is incorrect. Your catch won’t cause any movement, nor will the finish. It’s pretty much just for hand position which is important. I love these paddles! After using just a few times while swimming laps, I see results. You can feel the added resistance during your workout, really increases strength and tone. Very simple design, no straps to mess with. I am 5’4” woman, 120 pounds, and the medium fits perfectly.

If you’re looking for them, you already know how good they are for serious swim training. These are not for beginners or non-competitive swimmers unless you have a hand deformity or disability (submitted with respect and sensitivity).

I use these daily for training. Great for low impact workouts and targets shoulder and arm muscles. I thought they may be a little awkward at first to keep on my hands as I swim but they are easy to use and stay on my hands when swimming. I’m glad I purchased them.

I really like these hand paddles, got the large size, easy to slip on and off. Great for hand entry positioning and high exit elbows, but if not done correctly it’ll flutter, so blades need to be in right position on stroke entry and exit. And it’s not intended for power strokes, right at your first use , cause I found that you can cause a strain on ur triceps , shoulders and arm pits if ur pulling too hard, I suggest going easy at first, then work ur stroke intensity as you get acquired to them. And they float!! I like them, I use them intermittently with my fins and snorkel on my pool lap swims usually a mile. Looking forward to using it in the ocean. ... show more
