This ock installed easier than any I have ever tried, and having owned rental units that was a lot. The lock itself is very sturdy and seems it would be difficult to break. While there were limited directions for the app if you play around with it you will figure it out, for example adding people and giving them their own code and fingerprint setup. There are still, however, things I can't figure out like what code you use if you are trying to "share" control with someone else who has to accept this. You can set up temporary passwords that are 10 digits randomly set, so hard to remember, which is nice, but the lock does not link to wifi so you can not remotely unlock it. There is, however, bluetooth connectivity to unlock it. The one thing I found s a tip - You grab the handle in different ways if you are carrying items. Something you wouldn't think of. So, I ended up adding myself as both the first user and as a secondary family member, rescanning my finger print while holding a full bag of groceries. This helped a lot. The only thing I wish is that they would have turned the light up numbers 90degrees so they are in an upright position instead of sideways. I hope this helps you! ... show more

Three reasons why this product is not good. 1.) the app used to interface with this handle is not user friendly. 2.) the door “always locks” and there is no way to successfully keep the door unlocked and giving access to friends is not an option 3.) randomly the door just doesn’t work. I have tow of these handles and randomly they both quit in the same month. I changed the batteries and the lock sounds like it is working but the mechanism in the door remains locked. I’d advise paying doe better quality from a brand you can trust and contact for tech support. ... show more

I was actually shocked how high quality this lock is given the price. The materials are heavy duty polished metal and the lock feels and looks fantastic! Installation was super easy for me, it was a direct replacement and I didn't even have to replace the receiver plate (Strike plate) on the door frame. I just took the old lock out, and put the new one in. It has the ability to do different size doors and latch lengths, and comes with a pattern, but myn fit out of the box. TIP: I used the old screws to secure the face plate with the latch. This was to make sure I didn't re-thread the wood as the screws were different thread sizes. The original screws created those threads, so less damage to the wood threads. Physical security of this lock seems great, when it is locked, the handle just goes down freely on the outside, so someone can't just break it open. Electronic security of this thing seems top shelf as it's using standard smart lock protocols. You can use the standard Tuya app, but I use the very similar and popular Smart Life app. Fingerprint reading seems very good, we'll see how it does in the winter. Entering a code with the keypad also works great. And of course there's a physical key you can use on the very end of the handle in case battery dies, etc. And if you don't have the key, there's a USB plug you can supply external power from the outside to power it and get in. I used lithium AAA batteries instead of alkaline as they have more capacity and no chance of leaking, but more importantly they perform better in lower temps and where I have it can get chilly. I'll have to see if I get accurate battery low warnings. Sometimes devices will accurately give you low battery warning with lithiums but sometimes they don't as they're tuned to alkaline. Only time will tell as I expect the batteries to last many months. Note, this is a bluetooth only lock, not Wifi, so it's not online all the time and you can't unlock it remotely. I knew the going in, and don't really need that. But you of course can create different codes for different people with different expirations etc. I don't really use that either. ... show more

only had the lock installed for a short time. fingerprint sensor takes a few turns sometimes (more than my other door locks). it says it is IP rated which is important to me but too early to tell.

Had this door lock for about a month now. So far so good! I got it to lock the pantry door from little snackers that keep spoiling their dinner! Love it! Works great. We've got 3 adults in the house so got all of them set up for thumb print recognition. Very reliable. I did 3 thumb prints for each user. Each thumb print takes 5 scans. So that's 15 possible positions for your thumb when you grab the knob. It rarely fails. It also shows you to use a numeric password. We each have one, but outside of the initial test, I don't think we've ever really had to use it since the thumb scan is so seamless and convenient. Bluetooth, like others have mentioned, do require you to be pretty close. About 10 ft ( that's shorter than you think) so it's a little more inconvenient in terms of letting someone have a one time access on a whim, since you have to be in Bluetooth range to create a passcode. Then I might as well use my own thumb! I haven't really had to deal with that much yet, so in all fairness there could be a decent workaround that I haven't explored yet. ... show more

Was very nervous about purchasing this product because of the previous reviews.My husband installed this device on our bedroom door to keep our children from snooping around.It was easy to install but the instructions was not as clear .When adding fingerprints it was very difficult it took about 30 mins for it to recognize our prints. Do I think it was worth the money NO ONLY BECAUSE U HAVE KEEP INSTALLING FINGER PRINT AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS IT LOCKS U COMPLETELY OUT ... show more
