The adjustment from 4-7 pounds is not even noticeable. In fact I don’t think it even works. However I needed to strengthen my pinky finger specifically for guitar after a serious injury some years ago so this works as a rehab device for me. It does just that and that’s all that matters. This is well made and designed strengthener for hand and fingers. Mostly for improving strength and dexterity for playing guitar and other string instruments. The bottom bar has a textured finish which makes slipping away from the thumb nearly impossible. To those complaining that adjustable settings don't work I get that, the feedback from the thing is terrible and at its highest and lowest setting the difference is slim. More importantly the angle you hold this at is hard to apple pressure with weaker pinky and ring fingers so its difficult to train with. ... show more

Bought this for my teen daughter who plays bass and electric guitar. The picture is in my hand. In hers, it’s a bit big. She does say that she feels it’s working though, and her hand is getting stronger.
