  • Got the Fill-Rite FR112 to fit a gas caddy.
Style: Rotary Pump w/Accessories
I was trying to figure out a way to get rid of my cheap hand crank pump (that kept breaking) on my 30 gallon gas caddy and find a quality pump that would work. Finding a quality pump that would just screw on it impossible. I found this Fill-Rite FR112 pump. I took a chance knowing that it had a 2" base and my suction tube was 1 1/4". It was pretty easy to get it reduced to the correct size (parts at you local hardware store). It took three parts. 2" female threaded to a reduced to 1 1/4" to a bushing then to a 1 1/4" female threaded. I got all three parts for under $9. I used PVC and used PVC glue to glue the parts together. I used gas resistant thread sealer ($7) and tighten everything down. The only problem I encountered is the 1 1/4" female end. It was standard NPT threading and my suction pipe was threaded with some weird Chinese metric fine thread. The PVC worked very well since I could cross thread it and removed the shaving. There was no damage to the gas caddy suction pipe. I let everything dry and gave it a go. It worked perfectly! You can get the same three parts in galvanized steel and that would work fine except you may damage the threads on the 1 1/4" suction pipe. The only thing I need to do is add the grounding wire. The pump seems to be very good quality and should last a long time. One thing I liked is that the instruction came with replacement part list. This could be handy in the future. I hope not. So far I am very happy with the pump. Time will tell..... ... show more

  • Made in USA and top quality! 🇺🇸
Style: Rotary Pump w/Accessories
The pump itself is great, works very well. I also ordered the fill right filter kit which I highly suggest you do as well. Installation is straight forward. Just be sure and use Teflon tape on all fittings. The long section of pipe that is included with the filter kit was way too long for my application. I didn’t want my filter hanging 10” away from the pump. This creates a lot of leverage and I can see the cast pump being damaged accidentally with that much leverage so I used a short piece of pipe I had laying around to get it mounted closer. If I had to go to the store I would have bought one about twice as long but this was laying around in a bin at the shop so I used it. All in all I am very happy with the fill rite pump and filter set up. I got the pump on amazon warehouse for $125 so I’m at around $160 for pump and filter. Not bad for something that should easily last a lifetime. It’s light years ahead of my old cheap made in China pump that leaked everywhere. ... show more

  • Reliable and Efficient Fuel Transfer Pump
Style: Rotary Pump w/Accessories
I recently purchased the Fill-Rite FR112 Fuel Transfer Rotary Hand Pump for transferring diesel. Here’s my experience: Pros: + Sturdy Construction: The pump is built from high-quality materials, making it durable and capable of withstanding harsh conditions. It feels solid and well-made, ensuring long-term reliability. + Efficient Fuel Transfer: The rotary hand pump design allows for smooth and efficient fuel transfer. It pumps fuel quickly and with a smooth operation that doesn’t require excessive force. + Complete Starter Kit: The package includes a discharge hose, straight spout, vacuum breaker, and suction pipe, providing everything needed for setup and operation. + Easy Installation: Setting up the pump was straightforward and hassle-free. + Versatile Use: This pump is versatile and suitable for a variety of liquids, including diesel, kerosene, and gasoline. It’s an excellent choice for farms, construction sites, and other locations where fuel transfer is needed, but electricity may not be available. + Padlock-compatible handle adds security to protect your investment. + Safety Features: The vacuum breaker is a great addition, preventing siphoning and ensuring safe operation. + Availability of replacement parts. Cons: - I do not like the telescoping suction pipe, because there is no way to lock in the exact length needed. It simply slides to a desired length, but there is nothing to hold it in place. (like there is on a paint roller extension handle, for instance.) So I used my trusty old steel one piece water pipe extension instead. See photo. - The 8 foot discharge hose is too short to be of any practical use to my farm fuel tank. I used my old trusty 12 foot 3/4inch hose instead. NOTE: The 8' hose given is only a 5/8" hose; the fitting only is 3/4". - The 3/4" nozzle spout refers to the thread size itself, not the 5/8" discharge end of nozzle. So I used my old trusty 3/4" nozzle, because it was longer and has larger discharge diameter. I also find the construction quite flimsy. See photo. Conclusion: Overall, the Fill-Rite FR112 Fuel Transfer Rotary Hand Pump is a high-quality, reliable, and efficient tool for fuel transfer, but I give the kit a 3 rating, because of the attachments. The pump Itself is of durable construction, but the attaching parts given are not of the same quality. Ease of use, and being a complete kit make it a valuable addition to any fuel transfer setup. I recommend it to anyone in need of a dependable manual fuel transfer pump, because it is made in America and you can get replacement parts for it. Your old dependable attachment parts with probably fit fine to upgrade this pump with. All I actually needed was the pump itself, of which I give a 5 star rating. Sadly I did not see a pump-only-option item for sale, because I paid for attachments that are effectively useless to me. ... show more
