We got a three knot toy the first time and our dog enjoyed destroying it. So this time I bought the five knot toy, to have more to work with. The toy is bigger than I want to give him all at once, so I cut it into three chunks. The way I did that was to immerse the whole toy in water for a couple of hours and then put it on a cookie sheet and freeze it. Once frozen I cut it twice with my chop saw. This made nice clean cuts but it took a couple of days to dry out. Now I have three toys to work with. Your mileage may vary, if you are comfortable doing this.

I've been through hundreds of toys that my bully staffy annihilates almost instantly however this rope actually lasts and he LOVES it especially playing tug of war. He does chew strong so it will fray a little bit but it's lasted a week so far and it looks like it should last another few months or longer.

Good product. However, my very heavy chewer pitbull did chew thru the rope in only a couple weeks. Luckily he chewed thru the middle knot. We would up with 2 smaller ropes. One of the small ropes was being shredded and my dog started eating the fluff he was pulling off. We had to take the ropes away at that point. It lasted about 3 weeks overall. Overall the rope is about 20 inches long (5 knots) and 1.5 inch thick made of cotton. Knots are about the size of a tennis ball. This should be great for an average chewer.

What awesome quality! My dog, Iggy, usually destroys toys in under five minutes—but this rope toy has lasted weeks, which is a big win in our house. It’s heavy and well-made, which seems to discourage him from tearing it apart like he usually does. Occasionally I’ll toss out a stray string or two, but that’s minor compared to how long it’s held up. It also doesn’t have any weird smell, and Iggy genuinely enjoys playing with it. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase, and so is Iggy! Highly recommended for tough chewers.

Bought it for my Doberman puppy. At first it was great, kept him busy. But as he grew and got more aggressive, it created a friggin mess. Dogs will pull on the threads and pull and pull till it breaks. A mess everywhere on the carpet and the furniture. Mine actual swallows some of the threads and had a bad time hacking some of it back up. One night he was hacking for over an hour until it made its way down. Fed him and gave him lots of water to wash it down. End opinion, not worth the danger and the mess. Just threw it out after having trimmed it many times. My opinion, find something less messy and dangerous if your dog loves to chew. However it worked well as a pull toy, while it lasted.
