These Quick Loop Straps are very handy for adding bow & stern tie-down straps to my kayak when transporting. I like to add these two extra straps after mounting the kayak in the rack for better travel and safety, but the hooks on the straps can damage your car. These straps solve that issue and also make it easy to attach the tie-downs. I was afraid my RAV4 would not 'like' having the strap between the rear hatch door and the body of the SUV, but the hatch latched securely. The quick loop strap is very secure and doesn't slip. On the hood side, I like that I can slip the quick loop strap in without completely opening the hood. All I have to do is the first 'pop' on the hood, slide it in, and push the hood shut. This also makes it easy to adjust where the tie-down lies so it isn't in your face while driving. Very handy.

Before I found out about this style strap I use to have a rope running from the kayak on the roof to a point under the car. It was a pain to attach in that manner and was also hard on the paint job. These straps fit securely under the hood, hold tight, and do not damage the paint. I have also used in the back of my suv, sticking out from under the rear door with no problem

I was really surprised to find that my Sorento doesn't have anything to hook my traditional tie down straps to for front/back tiedowns on my kayaks, so when I saw these it was a great 'aha' moment. They work well, setting up easily and holding in place without issue. They're durable and I have no concerns of any breakage, tearing, etc. Great option!

These foam pieces fit easily in the trunk or hatchback groove, providing a great tie-down loop when the trunk or hatch is closed on them. Perfect for securing a kayak or other objects on a roof rack. Seem to be good quality webbing as well.
