    • Great Bumper for 90s Ford Ranger/Mazda B-Series
I bought this bumper because my old bumper was a tetanus shot waiting to happen. I live in the rust belt, and the stock bumper had rusted all of the way through. It was to the point where the license plate light had nothing to be mounted to. This bumper is a great deal, considering you get a new bumper for less than it would cost to pull a used factory bumper from the junk yard. Sure, it won't look stock but it still looks great, and way better than a rusty hole. The fit is decent. It doesn't wrap around the truck as tightly as the stock bumper did, but it doesn't look strange either. This may allow more snow/salty slush to accumulate on the inside of the bumper, but it's also much easier to spray out the inside of the bumper as compared to the factory bumper. Standing at the side of the tailgate I can easily aim the car wash sprayer behind the bumper to rinse it out. I was very impressed by how much stuff the bumper comes with. It comes with new license plate light sockets, license plate light bulbs, hoods/lenses for the license plate lights, plastic license plate mounts, and new screws for the license plate. I honestly didn't expect to get new sockets and all that, but I'm glad I did, because the old ones were all corroded. The one thing that you need that doesn't come with the bumper are the mounting brackets. For a 98 Ranger/B-series the part is Fey 97200 Direct Fit Mounting Kit for Fey DiamondStep & SureStep Universal Bumpers (Bumper sold separately) . Since this is a universal bumper, they can't bundle the mounts with the bumper. You have to get the right mounting brackets for your particular vehicle. ... show more

    • I like the look of this style over OEM and it's cheaper.
Don't know how easy it will be to install but I work in auto body and have removed and installed many pickup bumpers over the years. As far as sturdiness goes it does seem very well-constructed. It comes with license plate light lenses; wish I knew before I ordered two.

I put this bumper on my 99 Ranger but you have to take off the receiver hitch to be able to put the brackets on. so if you want your receiver hitch I would not recommend buying this bumper…. And the brackets are sold separately

Bought for a 1999 Ford Ranger. For the price, this is a great value. Nice design, powdercoating good, etc. However there are two significant problems with it: first, it is not well braced on the end, and not that sturdy there. However, the bigger problem is that they are not sufficiently packaged for shipping, and it is almost inevitable that it will arrive bent. Mine was bent slightly on one end but was smashed on the other, beyond straightening. This was such an obvious likelihood, I would imagine it happens very often. I like the bumper but worry that the next one will arrive damaged also. ... show more

Even though the tool tip says that it isn't sure if it will fit... It will... It was a little pain getting it on there but that's because there was a little bend in the frame.

    • Not perfect but good with some effort
This bumper was installed on a 1996 Tacoma 2WD. When I first unboxed this bumper I noticed that parts of the top plate were bent, but I was able to straighten these out with a rubber mallet. Also there were rubbed off parts of the paint finish so some sanding and a coat addressed this issue. The two license plate lights that were included are cheaply made, but adequate. The bumper installation is pretty straight forward if you install the Fey 93700 mounting brackets. The brackets don't come with the 1/2" bolts, washers and nuts. Get the 1 1/2" length bolts. Overall for the price and some extra effort this bumper is a good buy. ... show more
