OK, so much hype about these things but now I get it. I have several vacuums. My wife actually picks on me about how many vacuums do you need? Hopefully this is the last one. I can’t imagine it being better at this point. I do have the Bluetooth remote on the end of the hosewhich is a game changer And it has self cleaning HEPA filters, which means maintain the same level of vacuum throughout projects that I may have. Except for the price, there is nothing to dislike. I am counting on their reputation for durability as I have only had it for a few months. It functions extremely well in terms of power with zero escape of particles. However, my prime reason for choosing it over the less expensive Makita, which probably would have performed equally well in the immediate (again trusting Festool's reputation for durability) was the incredibly well thought out design that keeps you from having a bulky hose wrapped awkwardly around the machine, as well as an electrical cord equally awkwardly stored. Festool smartly makes those typical inconveniences disappear. It also wheels about easily with it's large back wheels even when just pulling around by the hose. Finally, the green fabric wrapped smooth hose doesn't catch on everything like the typical ribbed hoses on most shop vacs or dust extractors. One recommendation for buyers: purchase the largest one, which has all the basic attachments already included. Plus, with the larger capacity you can go much longer before having to purchase an expensive replacement bag. I am looking forward to purchasing the Blue Tooth accessory that will alow me to turn it on and off from the business end of the hose. And any concern over the thumping of the automatic filter cleaning is nonsense as you can turn the function on and off at will. I am very happy about the splurge of buying the Festool despite my momentary buyers remorse right after ordering for not getting the less expensive but equally functional Makita. ... show more

    • I'm so old I remember when Festo made quality tools
Festo earned a great reputation. Notice I used the word "earned" meaning past tense. They don't earn their reputation anymore. This vacuum doesn't have great suction. You could go to home depot and spend 200 bucks on a shop vac and get better suction. And the hose falls off the wand every 3 seconds because they never figured out how to attach it properly. You have to constantly stop, pick up the hose and reattach it. You get to the point where you're working the wand with one hand and holding the hose on with the other. You can spend more money to install a bluetooth module in this vacuum, which I was dumb enough to do, only to find that every time I release the trigger of the tool paired with the vacuum, the bluetooth connection ends and it takes 10 seconds or so to reconnect. I've found it's much more efficient to just plug the tool into the wall and turn the vacuum on and off manually. Though this vaccum has a larger bin that the other models, the turbine is exactly the same. All you're getting is a larger plastic body than the other models. If you think you're getting a bigger turbine and more suction then you are way off. All in all, there's nothing about this vacuum that justifies the price. ... show more

So I purchased planex for home remodel and quickly realized I needed the correct vacuum a little frustrating but I have found it worth the money to have a system that works. The ease of use makes the Sheetrock sanding much easier and far better than the cheaper products added the hand sanders for corners and the beater head for floor clean up ... show more

Just getting back into working with wood and thought I'd get some better tools and accessories. I can't believe I let go of this much loot for essentially a vacuum but I did. I don't regret it. Got the bluetooth switch and love it.
