Others have mentioned damage during shipping, and I must say, this was a concern of mine when I purchsed this item. I was pleasantly surprised when the package showed up with extensive protection on the edges. When unboxing the table, I found zero damage to the table, rails, or legs. The instructions are typical Festool, a little jumbled and unclear, so be sure to watch a couple of videos on YouTube about properly setting up the table. The most important thing is to make absolutely certain the guide rail is square to the fence on the back. Once you do this, your crosscuts will be perfect every time. Overall I am very pleased with the table and look forward to buying more accessories for this extremely versatile, well-made Festool product. Expensive, but worth it. I will likely build a roll-around base for it with storage and remove the somewhat wobbly legs. Since this is a dedicated shop tool, I am not concerned about the portability of the table. I definitely recommend this product.

This really is an amazing portable work bench, especially if you are going to use the plunge saw or router on the rail system. It all just works. Expensive but well engineered and worth it for the time it will save you with sheet goods and holding wood projects for sanding or planing. I did apply some thinned shellac to the worktop to give it some moisture resistance, and also used a chamfering tool to make the dog holes work with a chamfered dog system. Very adaptable and adjustable.

whether you work in a small home shop, work on projects in and around your home, or work at a jobsite, this may be one of the most flexible work tables I have ever owned. I never considered one for my workshop because they seemed a ridiculous expense for a folding card table with holes, when I needed to work on a project around the house I bought the collapsible dewalt tables - far easier on the wallet, but also far less useful. then I tried a bora centipede which wasn’t bad but my number one complaint is you can’t store anything underneath it and it’s really difficult to level if you are on uneven ground, and while you can use hold downs, bench dogs, it really doesn’t work well with clamps around the edge. So then I tried an mft/3 almost hating myself for spending. when it arrived I put it together pretty well ignoring the instructions and really liked the leveling, the solidness of the table top and really liked the T-track around the edge. well when I got a little further along I set the tape up and it really does shine - no I am no sedge with it but I like it. I bought the smaller lean on and that really upped the functionality of the table. I finally bought a second one for the particular project I am working on and trying to manage a great teal of long, expensive hardwood. I will confess I saw sedge use the two protractors and it seemed genius - I don’t move the board I move the saw and I don’t have to worry about over hang. the cuts are all repetitive…and while I probably could use the miter saw and wings I can do all the layout joinery, drill cabinet wholes and and then move to the next board. I do like the addition of the stabilizer bar and agree at this price it should be included. As far as the MFT vs MFT/3 debate, I will also repeat what sedge said and even if you don’t want the protractor and that stuff, the 1080 track is more than the difference in the two options. while I am gray to have shipping since I live 3 hrs from the nearest dealer, I do think that two boxes is not too much to ask. The last one I got, they had also added the HD white cardboard corners and it helped, but as you see from the pictures the tape on the ends had completely given up and the inter box had a huge hole - I am fortunate that nothing was lost or damaged. I do wish there was an optional lower shelf as wheel as a couple of wheels that could integrate into the t-track. putting these up and down by yourself would be a ton easier. finally, there is so many optional parts and add-ons that this once again becomes a platform. I also wish there was a systainer with the cut outs for the pieces or a soft bag to store them long pieces in. Do I wish I had bought one 7 years ago when I spent weeks belaboring the point. the bora centipede is a card table…this is a portable bench!

The table arrived damaged. I returned it and bought another one. This one also had damage but I kept it. Vender never refunded the money. Repeated emails did not help. Thankfully amazon refunded the money. Table itself is good, a little overpriced

Some people say that the MFT is overpriced and too flimsy. That made me a little nervous when I was considering purchasing it. It is very sturdy for what I will use it for, such as cross cutting wide panels and holding pieces that I will sand or cut domino slots into. It took some work to get it assembled. Some of the attachments were very tight and I had to work to get them into their locations. Also, I had to adjust the stop on the front to square up the track to the fence. But it all went together and it is working just fine. So far I have cut some panels and some domino slots (mortises). I am looking forward to trying out some other techniques.

I use the MFT on a daily basis and overall I am very happy with the table itself. It helps a lot having a known flat surface to work off of and the holes and accessories you can get for it are incredibly useful. My gripe with the table is around the fence and the guide rail. The rail has a lot of movement in it, even when locked in place which can lead to cuts being a tad off. I bought an accessory for the rail that helped with the issue but still didn't make it 100% accurate. I eventually switched back to a cross cut sled on my tablesaw that worked out being quicker and more accurate for me. That said, it really doesn't make sense to buy the table without the accessories due to the cost. I use the guide rail fairly frequently, though not on the table itself. I took the fence off the table a while ago and haven't looked back. It was also somewhat clunky and just seemed to get in the way of me using the table in general.

This is a very useful product and you will see the benefit right away. With a few clamps this workbench is transformed into a multi-function tool. I say tool because it's not just a workbench. Before I purchase my TSC I used a Dewalt tracksaw and it worked very well what the MFT/3. The only reason I sold my DeWalt was because I bought into the Festool hype. Either way, I'm happy with my decision and if you purchase the MFT/3 you'll be pleased. If you don't, there are other alternatives that will give you good results. It's not a necessity. I like it, but the factory packaging which is directly related to Festool's service is piss poor. I received two of these both were damaged. Normally I get really angry of people who write reviews and cite damage as a flaw of the product, but in this case I have to say the way that Festool packaged this product is directly related to quality of this $600+ product and is unacceptable. This is my third MFT table, and, although the price is getting too high, I am still pleased that I bought it. I will primarily be using it as a work table in my garage or if I have to do something away from home. I have two of the MFT tables in my shop, that are pretty much stationary. I struggled between buying just the table, or the table with the guide assembly, and I opted for the ladder. For the price difference, I think it was worth getting an extra guide rail and the hardware, and if I ever have to use it, I will have it. If you just need a mobile work table, and don’t plan on needing to make accurate cross cuts, the basic MFT table would be fine. On my two tables that I leave in my shop, I purchased the extra pieces that adds stability to the base. These would not be handy on a table that you would be moving around, as they would have to be removed each time you close to legs for transport. If you do purchase the basic table, and later decide to use a fence and guide rail for cross cuts, third-party hardware is a consideration. The bottom line is, this is an expensive work table, but it is a very solid, and the flexibility for clamping things in different positions, on the table top or sides of the table, make me very happy when using it.
