I've only taken this on one trip but it's now my go to carry on for airline travel. Replacing a semi hard backpack on wheels that I could never actually carry on my back (Too heavy and bulky). The laptop fit in the designated slot just fine and it travelled well along with that bulky power cord. There was plenty of room for everything else and I travel with a lot of "everything else!" I carried a smaller pocketbook inside to have handy at the airport although I didn't need it because the various zipper pockets worked and were arranged effectively for cash/cards that I wanted to get to quickly. This fit under the seat (737) just fine, and there was a separate pocket for my phone charger inside that hooked to the assessable outside port - neat trick. One potential issue is the strap that connects the two shoulder straps in the front. I'm 5'4" and this strap was closer to my chin area than I would have like. It might be a matter of better adjusting the shoulder straps or it could be the best I can expect for my height. Certainly not something that would prevent me from buying this. To start off with, I am overly picky. I like things a certain way and if not, I do my best to improve the situation to my idea of perfection. Pockets, pockets, I love pockets. I have tries several different options/brands and this is the one I chose to keep. This pack has lots of pros and a few cons, so lets get to it. Pros: Starting with the exterior: The material is very nice with a very smooth like feel. It's not leather and more like a a durable vinyl plastic that I'm sure will last a number of years under normal use, before it starts to peel. Straps: The padding is very nice and there is a lot of it. Wide, very thick padding and very comfortable. The strap clips can be easily removed, and the straps themselves can be tucked away. Also, the bottom hooks for the straps can also be tucked away and hidden for a nice clean look. There is also a chest support strap, which keeps the pack more on the upper back instead of sliding down to the lower back region and causing that lower back pain that we all love!! Backing: Backing is pillow-esque; a lot of cushion. The back panel can double as a big external pocket for some thin objects, like a folder or papers, etc. I added a small strip of heavy duty velcro to the top, to keep it closed. Water bottle pocket: Plenty of room for larger bottles and once unzipped, my 20oz bottle fits nicely with even room to spare. - NICE! Front pockets: Both are very spacious. Side pocket is huge and easily accessible. Top pocket doesn't open very large and is a little difficult to add/remove items. I wish this opened about 3-4 more inches on both sides. I also added velcro to the rear pocket in the top front pocket. It's flimsy and hangs loose inside of the compartment. Wish the manufacturer would have made this pocket with a zipper. Zippers: Not YKK, but they are very smooth and operate without jamming up. Handles: Very thick and feel durable, although I would like to see them reinforced with extra stitching. There is also an additional shoulder strap attachment that I tuck away in the hidden compartment in the back. Useful for carrying as a breifcase, instead of a backpack. There are 2 additional and carefully placed eyelets to attach the shoulder strap clips. Charging ports: They work, but they do not support fast charging. I had to take a Dremel to make room for the USB C as the slot isn't wide enough to plug it in all of the way. Internal: Lots of pockets as I stated. this inside has a sealed pocket for damp items(toothbrush, washcloth, etc.) so it won't affect the remaining contents in the main compartment. I also added velcro to that rear pocket as this one also is flimsy and loose. Because that pocked it so large, I also added a vertical velcro stip to essentially separate that pocket into two separate pockets. This way, it can be expanded to the full pocket when needed. Expansion: This adds quite a bit of additional space to the main compartment. Others have the expansion in the laptop compartment, which makes no sense to me, but this is where you would need to add additional room in my eyes. Laptop compartment: Spacious, roomy and very well padded. Con: There is no hard protection on the inside, between the main compartment and the laptop compartment. If you place something hard on the inside of the main compartment, it could leave an impression on the contents of the laptop compartment. I always use a sleeve for my devices, so this isn't an issue for me. In review, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I feel like I have made some slight modicifations ($5.00 for heavy duty velcro) to make this pack fit my needs better. ... show more

Considering most reviews are from free product testers, and not purchased, this is a Pretty Nice Bag! The material is definitely waterproof. Almost leather like rubber coating looks and feels really nice. Just remember, it’s a business backpack and not really meant for hiking. That being said, I try to take it easy with it. The price is not bad either especially with the coupon attached. I have not needed to expand it yet, but it’s nice to know it’s there. Me Likey!! 😎👍 Oh yeah…No Smell!👊🌻 ... show more

I love how sleek this backpack is and that it can be unzipped to become twice the size. I used to have 2 backpacks. A slim one and a big one for the nI traveled. now, I just have this one because it can be 2 sizes and has tons of pockets and compartments.
