I love how easy this was to install. The only soldering I had to do was to connect the output jack. Other than that, you can run a ground wire to the bridge (which doesn’t necessarily need to be soldered), screw it on the guitar body, and you’re done! The sound is fantastic! It’s got all those classic Strat tones that you’ve heard on hundreds of records. I wish it were a little less expensive, but it’s a great piece of gear. I used it for a new build, but it would also make a great replacement for a guitar with cheap electronics, or an old one in which the electronics may have worn out.

These pickups and pots are just the ticket if you're searching for that classic Fender clean vibe without the annoying 60 cycle hum. For years I've had Lace Sensors on one of my Strats and it is my go to guitar if I'm not sure where and what I'll be playing. It is quiet but lacks the really super clean bell tone I sometimes want. This guitar is a 40th anniversary American Strat and the original pups were not very good so I've used it as a pickup testbed for years and the best pickups I've had in it were the Custom Shop 40's. Those pickups have superb Vintage tone but are considerably noisy. I need to do some recording and I absolutely want a crystal clear clean vintage tone but I cannot have the noise of the CS40s. I decided to try this Vintage Noiseless loaded pickguard and man am I glad I did. No noise and superb tone. There is a small bit of noise when I have the compressor pedal and a high boost over drive going with the amp turned up but it is very minimal and easy to deal with. If you want quiet vintage Fender tone, this Vintage Noiseless loaded pickguard is your ticket!

I have an old 1990 American-made Squier Stratocaster that's always played well, but suffered from entry-level hardware and pickups. This pre-wired pickguard was an easy, drop-in, perfect fit to upgrade my guitar to that chimey, classic Stratocaster sound. It's not noise-free, but nothing a little noise gate won't handle.

I bought this for my '89 Strat. It's a direct replacement (plug and play) and very easy to install. Sounds great and I love the black guard against the cherry red.

Fender makes several different pickguard replacements like this. So I'm only speaking for the Texas Special. First of all I saved 60 dollars buying from amazon instead of Fenders web site. Sorry Fender. I installed this on an inexpensive Squire Strat that I bought from the NRA as a fundraising promotional. The Squire looked bad ass but I wasn't expecting much in the way of sound quality. As expected the pickups on the Squire were low budget at best. Very thin tone, no bottom end. I picked the texas special because i got to hear how it sounded on fenders web site. Very Important move on my part. The sound blew me away but would it sound that good on my cheap Squire. After an easy installation came the real test and it didn't disappoint. The Squire has a low end growl that was never there before. The tone is amazing. It's now one of my favorite guitars and I have a half dozen. If there's a fire in the house I have to make sure I grab this one. The cheap Squire sounds like a 1,000 dollar strat. At least, maybe more. Check the fender web site before buying and listen to the demos. You won't be disappointed.
