  • Beautiful Sound and Looks!
Color: Polar White Style: SS
Love this guitar! I compared this MIM to an American one in GC, and was sold not only by it’s classy looks, but by it’s playability. Both guitars were visually appealing and both sounded great. They both have the same body. The hardware and pickups on the American are upgraded, but the ones on the this guitar are still pretty good quality and they have improved the pickups from last years MIM, which I believe was called Standard series instead of Player series. The biggest difference aside from the price being half that of the USA, was the neck. The Player Series neck (I have been playing it hours every day since I bought it a month ago) plays like butter. It is fast and narrow and the action very low. My fingers just slide all around effortlessly and my rough callouses from my acoustic playing have smoothed out into just hard fingertips that glide along the strings. The neck on the USA model was a bit thicker and slightly wider, which for me, makes it hard to comfortably fret the 6th string. Please take into consideration I am female and have small hands, so it may not mean much for you if you are a man, but I think it increases speed if that’s what you’re interested in. Aside from all of that, the guitar sounds great. Quintessential Tele sound is achievable, as well as other sounds. GC didnt have the Polar White and they couldn’t even get it, so I bought it here on Amazon. I called the number on this page and even got a discount. I Got the Polar White and it is stunning. Absolutely flawless! Only complaint, as another reviewer has said, the packaging was poor. It arrived in a cardboard box ( the original Fender box) without any kind of neck support or cushioning what so ever. Alarming for any guitar enthusiast. Luckily, after removing the guitar from the box, the guitar was perfect and had no issues. It really would be in the customer’s best interest, and also in Fender’s best interest to do a better job packaging the guitar. Just some cardboard supports around the neck and some foam around the body is all it would take. I highly recommend this guitar. ... show more

  • shipping was bad but guitar rocks
Color: Tidepool Style: HH
I bought what was labels Used Good. The guitar was not protected well in the box and got a couple dings. So minus one for whomever packed my guitar! I was going to return it but before I could I played it a couple days and feel in love. It's a nice guitar. Very comfortable to play. Sounds great too. Very pretty except for the dings. ... show more

  • A fun, great sounding guitar!
Color: Tidepool Style: HH
This guitar arrived perfect, sounded fantastic out of the box, coil tap works well, nice fast action, I'm adjusting the height of the pickups to my taste but otherwise for me the setup is just right. Absolutely beautiful guitar, and I find it really fun to play, very comfortable. Mine did not include a case, so I got a Fender gig bag that works well. And in my opinion, a fantastic value! ... show more

  • Great product with one upsetting flaw.
Color: Black Style: SS
Fresh out of the box it looked and felt great, with one exception I'll get to. Tuned it up and it just needs a small neck adjustment, which was to be expected. Playing it sounded wonderful too. Versatile guitar that can cover a multitude of ranges. Both pickups sounded great clean and with gain. The only reason I'm rating this 4 stars is due to the pickup selector switch. When I first pulled it out of the box and was testing all the movable parts, I noticed the cap on the selector was loose. I set the selector to the middle position and snapped it down without a problem. But when I set it to bridge or neck position, it wouldn't go all the way. So the cap has to be pulled up in order to go to either position, leaving it loose and easy to come off. I'm sure I can find a new cap that's a little tighter and doesn't need to go down as far, or throw some glue in it to sit a little higher. So that was a little upsetting. Outside of that, it seems just perfect and exactly what I wanted. ... show more

  • Dissatisfied
Color: Butterscotch Blonde Style: SS, Left-Handed
The guitar came with a problem with the brightness knob, every time I turn it up to brighten it makes a dirt sound. It is also poorly calibrated and out of octave, and the E string get broked.

  • Great Instrument for an Enthusiast
Color: Silver Style: HH
Moving up from a budget Squire, this thing has refinements in every department. Silver gray was not my preferred color but it really is stylish with the white pick guard and red-brown tones of the fret board. It's got the belly cut back which is hard to find and a nice feature if you play seated a lot. Good setup right out of the box, though most of the bridge saddles are very unlevel (see photo), so I think I'll adjust and try lowering the action a tad. Fret ends feel bumpy along the neck, more so than they should I think. Coming from an Affinity, it feels worth the money. I'm really pleased with this purchase. ... show more

  • Telecaster Deal
Color: Black Style: SS
This is my second time trying to buy a Fender Telecaster from Amazon. The first was 6 years ago. It got lost in transit. Something about UPS mishandling the shipment. Anyway on with the review. The only thing I don't like is that the boxing shows the product. Example: Fender Telecaster name, all over the outside of the box. Temptation is only seconds away from a theft. I was lucky this time around. Ordered it based on the specs and reviews. It was delivered on time by you know who, UPS. Good price. Thanks Amazon. It had factory 9 gauge strings. I play 10's. It was later changes to 10's. It needed a complete setup $100. It plays great. I play most on the bridge mode. I am not disappointed The Luthier was very impressed by the built and sound. I play several types of music. Country, Jazz, Standards, Rock and Blues. It does a good job. After 35 years of playing and entertaining I am satisfied with this Fender. I have had many guitars through out the years. And I am always leary, about foreign products. This one is a Mexican product. Fender in Corona, Ca. says they design it, but the Mexico factory assembles the guitar. That is where is the cost is reduced. An American Telecaster is about 80% more expensive, only because its comes from the USA. Buy this guitar and spend some money on the "setup". It will play great. Ciao! ... show more
