Description

Remember when you could run your generator off either gas or propane? Whether we're providing your home electricity during a crisis or charging your family's cellphones at the campgrounds, WEN has been reliably lighting up lives since 1951. Now, with the WEN 11000-Watt Dual Fuel Electric Start Generator, you’ll be able to create power from two different sources. Simply select your preferred method, either gasoline or LPG, and power on the generator using the electric start. Propane provides the generator with 9500 surge and 7500 running watts while gasoline creates up to 11000 surge and 8300 running watts. Our packed panel features four 120V GFCI outlets (5-20R), a 120V 30A twist lock outlet (L5-30R), a 120V/240V 50A outlet (NEMA 14-50R), and a 12V DC cigarette-lighter-style plug. Run your lights, TV, refrigerator, sump pump, power tools, or other essentials with ease. The WEN Watchdog CO Shutdown Sensor helps protect both you and your family by automatically turning off the generator if dangerous levels of carbon monoxide are detected. The wheel and handle kit makes transportation easier than ever while the included 47-inch LPG hose allows for immediate connection to propane tanks. With its 240 volts of power and 457cc engine, this generator is the perfect companion for emergency back-up. Simply plug your transfer switch into the NEMA 30A twist lock for electricity in times of need. Fill the gas tank with up to 6.6 gallons of gasoline for an 8.5-hour half-load runtime. It’s durable enough for the job site and compact enough for easy storage. And because it’s a WEN product, your generator comes backed by a nationwide network of skilled service technicians, a friendly customer support phone line, and a two-year warranty. • With a bit of homework, I found the best generator for me
Size: 11000W, Dual Fuel
Very pleased with my new generator! I have previously made the mistake of buying tools that just covered my needs, instead of having a little or a lot more capability than the minimum required. This time I stretched my finances a little more and made sure I had more power than my current needs demand. . To date, I've run this almost 8 hours... so time to do the suggested maintenance. I've only run this using propane for fuel, operating off a 30lb tank. I've run tools such as an angle grinder and a small flux-core welder I'm experimenting with. . This unit has started up, and provided plenty of power for the work I've had to do, so far. I have worked around large generators and compressors commercially before, and so I wasn't expecting a whisper-quiet tool. Proper placement of the generator with simple blocking/baffling between it and my workspace helps diffuse the loudness. . With the handles and wheels, I can roll this gennie really easily out of the shipping container it's stored in and out to the worksite. ... show more

  • I am shocked... pun intended
Size: 11000W, Dual Fuel
I have the worst luck with brand new items. Doesn't matter what it is, if I buy it new, it won't work. This generator is the first brand new thing I've bought that works perfectly. I was shocked when it started up instantly right out of the box. I even tried the pull cord... engine started with the slightest tug. It runs very smooth, it makes lots of power. It's about as loud as you would expect any generator to be. It's not quiet, but none of them are. The quality of this generator... also shocking. For the price of it, compared to other brands, I was expecting loose bolts, cheesy brackets, etc etc. It is actually very well built. It's heavy, strong, it doesn't rattle at all. Very tight. I'm confident this unit will last a long time. My favorite part, because I'm a mechanic, is the easy access to the engine parts that will need regular service. Everything was placed in the perfect spot to be worked on without foul language and throwing tools involved. I had my wife and children start it up and get it ready as if a power outage occurred. Using it is a breeze. Everything is labelled clearly, easily accessible, and it all works as it should. The only things you need to assemble is the wheels and handles. Super simple to do. Very clear instructions. The Generator is heavy, without wheels, you better drink some milk if you're gonna move it. Once the wheels and handles are on it, it so easy to roll around, you forget how heavy it really is. My 90lb daughter has no problem moving it around on it's wheels. I'm very pleased with this generator. I highly recommend this model and brand. You're getting a great product without a huge price tag. UPDATE. It's now 5/18/2022. Had to use the generator to power my house due to a power outage for a few days. It hadn't been started in about 2-3 months. Bumped the key, started right up. I've had it running on gas and it's used an average of 1 tank per 10-11 hours. Hasn't burned any oil. Level perfect every time. Doesn't overheat, runs real smooth. I shut it off every other time I added gas. Starts right back up and goes to work. I use only Non-Ethanol gas to protect the carb. Regular gas will gum up and clog jets when it sits. I also use Synthetic oil, (Royal Purple) in the engine. I purchased the WEN cover for it and the Generator looks brand new, even after sitting outside for over a year. And yet another update 11/21/2022 So the generator has been running for 300+hrs straight, powering my house. Day 12, Battery died. Generator shut down because without battery power, the solenoid in the carb closes when it loses 12v power from the battery. Not a big deal, jump started it off my lawn tractor, started right up and gave me time to go get a new battery. I plugged a charger into the generator to keep the battery charged while I went and bought a new battery. It flashes code P50 when you need to change the oil. Do that, don't ignore it. (takes about 3 min) It flashes P100 when you need to do a more extensive service. Do that also, don't ignore it. (takes 10 min) This Generator is screaming 23/7 days a week now. It's a beast. It's doing it's job very well in my opinion. Still solid, no rattles, nothing coming loose, and producing power like it has since day one. Fuel consumption - About 10-11hrs on a tank. I changed to an NGK BPR7ES plug and run 89 octane gas, Royal Purple Full Synthetic Oil, and It's a solid 12-14hrs per tank of gas. I hope all this actually helps someone. ... show more

  • Not a true 14.5kw generator
Size: 14500W, Tri Fuel
Pluses: Well built. Easy to setup and start. Run on propane very well. Run well on natural gas (after an in-line NG regulator is added). Noise level is 6-db lower than WGEN 9500DF. Minuses: - Not a true 14.5kw generator. The output is limited by 2 things as part of the generator: 1. A 39A output breaker (cap to 9340w max) 2. The voltage regulator only rated to 8.5kw. Voltage level drop sharply after that. ... show more

  • Excellent choice
Size: 11000W, Dual Fuel
Cost was great. Easy set up and works every time. Moves easily however we hard wired ours to what we need so it kicks in automatically if the power goes out. Quiet and runs easily every time.

  • Had initial startup issue, but runs like a champ ever since!
Size: 11000W, Dual Fuel
Delivery was great, used a box truck with a lift instead of the normal delivery vans. Assembly was easy, other than this is a 200+LBS unit. (Some people may require assistance with installation of the wheels, as you have to lift up the generator and set on a piece of wood or similar to install put them on). You also have to install the 2 handles for moving the generator around. As well as remove 2 "shipping brackets" as described in the instructions included. Battery was full charged and ready to go, everything was included, nothing was damaged. (all issues i had read from other reviews). After spending maybe an ~30-40 mins assembling it, i was ready to start it up. This is where i ran into the one and only issue. The generator would crank, but not start. I looked at the instructions that came with it, and went to the "troubleshooting" page. In the section that relates to my crank no start issue, it states to remove the bowl of the carburetor and allow to sit open for a few minutes and reassemble as the carb may be air/vapor locked. Sure enough after i put it back together, turned the fuel on again, put it on choke, it fired up within seconds. I ran it straight for about an hour with no issues, but also without a load. Turned off the fuel and allowed generator to use the remaining gas left in the carburetor, disconnected the negative and put away for about a month an a half. One day i wanted to see if it would start right up as it had after i figured out the no start issue. I pulled the generator back out and reconnected the battery. Turned on the fuel, choke and turned on the ignition. It fires right up in seconds. I then let it run for 5 minutes to let it warm up and recharge the battery (even though the battery didnt seem to loose any charge). I grabbed a couple extension cords and connected to my refrigerator, 3 electric/ceramic heaters, a tv, and a vacuum. All things convenient and easy to use, to do my quick load test. First i connected just the refrigerator, it is an older one. it runs 7.5 amps/900watts. I plug it in and i hear no change from the generator, as you normally hear when you put a load on it. I had to go inside to check if the refrigerator was actually on, because this thing didnt even hesitate. I then added the rest of the items i mentioned above and this thing ran strong the entire time. For $800 you cant beat the amount of power that this unit puts out. I havent actually used it yet in a power outage situation, but i am confident that this thing will run everything i need during an outage, including my central air. ... show more
