  • Great little guitar but overset neck makes it unplayable
Style: PM-2 Color: All-Mahogany
I returned this PM-2 guitar because the neck was over set by 1/8" meaning that the plane of the neck is higher than the top of the bridge (It should be even with the top of the bridge). This causes very low buzzy action. To fix requires the neck to be reset which is a major repair. This guitar should never have passed QA. Beautiful guitar though...I liked everything about it and have I ordered another one...hope that one will be OK. update 6-2-23: I received a replacement PM-2 but it has exactly the same problem: overset neck, resulting in very low action making it unplayable. I can tell it is a good sounding guitar and I would rate it 5 stars if it was playable. I returned it and Ordered another one. Maybe the 3d time is the charm. update 6-5-23: I received another replacement PM-2 but it has exactly the same problem as the 1st and 2nd guitars. The 3d time was definitely NOT the charm and I immediately sent it back. These were all brand new never sold guitars. Dunno what I'm gonna do...I really like this guitar, but do I take a chance on buying a 4th? stay tuned. Update 7-2-23: If I had got a good one I would have given it 5 stars because I really liked this guitar. I upgraded to 4 stars for the overall quality/sound IF the guitar was playable, which they were not. The 3 guitars I sent back were all not playable and could not be adjusted, but they were extremely well built and very good sounding guitars. Guitars like the 3 I returned will end up being sold "for parts or not working") FYI: Amazon currently has a 25% back Prime card offer (till 7-31-23) on this guitar and many other Fender guitars, amps, etc. That brings the price on this guitar to $375 which is great if you get a good one......they have 20 in stock. ... show more

  • Good design and sound but QC issues
Style: PM-1 Color: All-Mahogany
This review is for the full solid mahogany dreadnought guitar. Fender no longer lists it on their website, but you can find a brief video on their YouTube channel. It does not have a pickup and has a lower MSRP than the pickup-equipped Paramount guitars. The Amazon listing is a bit confusing this way. There's also a very similar full mahogany guitar, the Guild D-120, down to the tuners, which I found curious. I really like the sound and looks of this guitar, but there were too many QC issues for the premium pricing. A few frets buzz on the low E and A and will need a bit of filing most likely. Some sections of the body "natural" finish are too rough and look incomplete. There was some discoloration on the fingerboard, and it looks like this happened from the included QC card! One of the black fret markers was also missing, never seen that before. For those like me who care, the air and soundboard resonant frequency is around F#, and once I heard it, was quite noticeable (look up "wolf note" in the context of picked, not bowed, instruments). The guitar is extremely light and IMO they could have made it a bit heavier so that the dead frequency wasn't so obvious. The included case is great; the included humidifier is the Martin style one, a flexible tube with a water holding element inside. ... show more

  • Awesome!
Style: PM-1 Color: All-Mahogany
This guitar is awesome and sounds great. It’s lighter than most of my other acoustics and would probably make a great travel acoustic. I know some reviews talk about not being set up but all it takes is a slight truss rod adjustment and it’s perfect. It also comes with a great case. Overall 100% satisfied with my purchase and may buy one of the other models as well. ... show more

  • AWESOME GUITAR
Style: PM3 Color: All-Mahogany
This is an unbelievable guitar ! Beautiful sound and finish. The premium case is awesome! Really can’t believe I got a solid wood guitar with a premium case at this price point. What a deal. Did not have to adjust action and neck was straight. I changed the strings to my favorite so it came out of box ready to tune and play! If you have always wanted a solid wood guitar but could not afford I recommend this beautiful Fender PM-3. What a deal! ... show more

  • Beautiful/light playable guitar but Intonation was not good
Style: PM3 Color: All-Mahogany
This is one of the nicest guitars I have come across. Its light and easy to play. The woodwork is nice but the problem was the intonation. I expected more. I got better intonation from a Fender cd60sce I bought a few months back for almost half the cost. THAT was probably a better deal when viewed from an intonation/cost standpoint. I expected when paying more bucks I would get something better. The funny thing was it arrived almost in tune. It could hold the tuning very very well even over several days it could stay almost in tune. But try and play up the neck - no luck. Then I tried using a capo and got it in tune but the same problem. It was almost ok but just some of the strongs were slightly out and did not play satisfactory chords to my ear. I checked it on a tuner and I could see 2 of the strings were just slightly out of tune when depressed. And its not a nut problem because when I used the capo thus isolating the nut there was the same problem. If I could get one with good intonation I think I would buy 2 of these guitars I liked it so much. Maybe I will head over to GC and put it to them that I will buy one if they can provide it with good intonation. Put the ball in their court. ... show more

  • Parlor Body Style
Style: PM-2 Color: Natural
Guitar is well built, the Parlor Body Style/Size is perfect for me, and the guitar has a very good tone.

  • Totally Fine
This is a fine instrument in a pinch. The action is reasonable and it plays adequately. The tone itself has a brittle, grating quality that I didn’t quite dig. For the size it’s capable of a decent volume without plugging in. However it did not work out for me. The aftermarket for these are not good and I lost a fair bit on trade. ... show more

  • Nice guitar perfect size very playable neck
Style: PM3 Color: All-Mahogany
This lacks a little bit on the low end. New strings might help a little. I got one with some wonderful dark striation. Which looks great with the white checkerboard pattern.
