Description

Mean, mean stride. The Geddy Lee Jazz Bass guitar is an exact replica of the tonally singular instrument that Rush's revered bassist/vocalist has riffed away on in front of millions of devoted fans worldwide and on many a mega- selling album. The bass has an alder body; the thin one-piece C-shaped maple neck has a maple fingerboard with black binding and black rectangular position markers. The two vintage Jazz Bass single-coil pickups crackle with life and bristle with the energy. Other features include chrome hardware, vintage-style tuners and a Badass Bass II bridge.

  • Such a great bass
Color: black
I was able to pick up a scratch and dent version of this with a nice discount. It's fantastic. I mean, it's been a few days and I've already listed a few of my other basses for sale, because this one is a keeper and may end up being my #1. Great tone, medium weight, excellent bridge, singing pickups. The neck is thin, but not overly so; I've heard that these newer GL MIMs have thicker necks compared to past models, and I believe it to be true. The sound is so full - deep lows (not as much bottom as a P bass, but there's plenty there). The mids sizzle and sound good, unlike mids on many basses (IMHO). The highs are tight and crispy. I cannot think of anything bad to say about this instrument. It looks cool, it helps produce great music, and it has a classic vibe. Cheers! ... show more

  • Buy the Japanese model!
Color: black
for an extra $100.00, get the made in Japan model or better yet, get your local Guitar Center to sell you a Japanese model with Swing Bass 66 strings; out the door (tax included) at $900 even like I did!

  • Retired and getting my skills back again after 48 years.

  • If only I could play it like Geddy!
Color: 3 tone sunburst
I can't say enough about how incredibly fun this bass is. The neck is super fast. The workmanship is on par with American made models. This is a Made In Mexico bass. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this bass. Even if you aren't a Rush superfan this bass rocks. Be aware that the bass is no longer made with the BAD*SS II. It is now a different hi mass bridge, I think it is a Geddy Lee bridge now. If you order from Amazon you will probably the BA II as I did, but don't take my word for it. I ordered a MIM P bass ata few months later and got a 2011 model even though it was 2014. Sum it up this is a great bass with a great price and is very comparable in my opinion to an American made bass. ... show more

  • Need to improve quality
Color: black
QC and build quality compared to other countries made (especially CIJ/MIJ Fender) in my opinion it not really worth the price. The one I got have some scratches on neck and body. Other than that, sound is OK but not amazing. Frets not very smooth. Not the one I play and press the "I WANT IT" button.

  • My first Fender
Color: black
I can't get over how awesome this is. My first fender and it plays like a dream. I don't have an older Fender to compare, but again I also don't have $5000+ to get one.

  • Great bass!

  • The neck was bad
Color: black
I already have the sunburnt version..love it ..perfect neck. Wanted to add the black version..... Got it today.... The neck is awful...not even close to my other geddy lee bass. Sending it back.. Taking a break from buying guitars.
