  • At this price, what's not to like?
This is a a very good, well balanced guitar for the price. It's arguable, that this is as baseline a guitar as you can get, but if you don't have over $1000 burning a hole in your pocket, it's worth looking at the dollar to value aspect. This guitar is made in Mexico and is a solid build with nice workmanship. Visually, the Shoreline Gold is as subtle color as gold can get with the finest metal flake. The most basic Tele bridge and easy to adjust black witch hat Volume/Tone knobs. Three way selector switch. You get the larger Strat sized head stock which pretty much completes the visual presentation. In a nutshell This guitar offers very well balanced tone. The Humbuckers offer clear highs and mids. You won't get the deeper tones from something like a Gibson Les Paul Standard, but you're also paying less than 1/4 the price. The neck is thin and has a 12" radius fret board with jumbo frets which makes it very easy to play and bend strings. Round this off with e quality hard shell case, and this is very good guitar for the money. Initial Setup After a little truss rod adjustments, the action was perfect. (Fenders from Mexico tend to come with the strings tuned down with truss rods loosened in my experience). This guitar came with 9's - I switched these out to 10's without issue. Final Thoughts I find myself playing this guitar frequently. The tone variables with Two Tone - Two Volume and switching between Neck and Bridge is underappreciated by many. It's great to have this on Fender guitar. ... show more

  • Really Nice Guitar, 35 plus years and 13 guitars and counting!
Yeah I was leary about buying a guitar off Amazon, I have 13 and have always gone with the standard big company Sw, Ams. Got it and everything that was supposed to be in it, has a small scratch on it but I play em, don't take em on dates so I will call see what they can do. This guitar is fricken awesome for the Mexican made which you wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway. The pups are hot, have a silver black top tele too and this is by far the best I have played. Had a 800.00 American made, no case, and this blows it away. Nice thing is i, is it can be returned easily if I decide not to keep but I will. Shoreline Gold, yeah it is a nice shade not all glittery and bright but a nice mid dull gold. Just right. I'll buy these Mexican made all day if they keep up the craftsmanship like they are! Cool, Hot and really nice guitar. Well worth the price. Edit: 1 month after changing to 10.46 NW strings and a tiny truss adjustment, might get a black one too! ... show more

  • Great guitar, unique sound!
It's always a gamble ordering a guitar off the net, now days carriers just don't care about the box or the items shipped in but this one came in perfect! The guitar is beautiful and the set up is great! Had to eq my amp the pickups are hot and the neck pickups are bass heavy. Guitar feels nice and neck is gloss/shiny so be aware of that. Case is nice. No scratches or dents. It's cool that the guitar came in the case and that came in a heavy duty box that was stapled with the bigger packaging staples. Well protected. ... show more

This Tele is quite a steal, considering what she can do! Where to begin? The whole 1970s tele thing was a big selling point for me. Keith Richard used a similar guitar on their ‘75 Fairwell tour. I’m a big fan of the CBS headstock (I think they have a better sustain). And it’s rare that you get a Fender with humbucker like pickups! The neck is thin and fast (which is great for people like myself that have small hands). 1 to 10, I’d give this instrument a 9. You won’t go wrong buying this guitar sight unseen (or unplaced). It came in tune and in excellent condition. ... show more

  • Warped neck
The guitar arrived in decent condition, however there are many dead frets and a warp in the neck. Overall, not a great buying experience. You're better off finding a local music shop that is open so you can actually see and test the instrument.

This guitar is well worth the price. A Tele with humbuckers...could not get any better! Great finish, zero flaws, and beautiful. Great sound from this and the 12"radius neck feels awesome!
