  • It's fender of course it's great
These amps are great, always have been always will be. It has that awesome fender sound and tone, beefy volume, and some great settings to alter depending on your style, from country, blues, rock, 80s metal to dirty heavy metal, it's so versatile and the clean channel is awesome too Effects are great too, get a foot switch for it and have fun. Great price and portable doesn't take up too much space and surprisingly loud too! Their 10watts are loud, I keep my practice 10 watt on level 1-2 in my apartment.... So this is bgger and better. I no longer have it as I didn't need it and I upgraded to individual effects pedals and I now plug into a di and pa with my pedals, so I now just use my little 10watt that hides away in the cupboard nicely for at home practice. Which is also a great Amp in fairness! ... show more

  • GREAT amp for beginners
The Champion 20 is perfect for beginners like myself. After comparing several brands online , I'm glad I chose the Champion 20 for its versatility, ease of use, voicings, effects and of course the reasonable price.

  • Another Great Fender Product!
I purchased this amplifier for my teenage nephew who had been borrowing my old Fender Frontman 25 for the past few years. This amp was everything I have come to expect from Fender products; well built, versatile, easy to use, and with a great classic sound.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Super versatile. All round phenomenal amp.
I use the gt40 as a practice amp in my tiny apartment, and I absolutely love it. Excellent diversity in the amps and effects means you can get a pretty good approximation to just about any tone you hear. To my ear the amp models sound great, but I suppose your mileage may vary. Do they sound exactly like the "real" thing in an a/b test? Maybe. I personally don't care as long as I can nail the vibe, and the unbeatably clean and intuitive front panel interface makes that easy. Having bluetooth connectivity is great for jamming along with songs too. Finally, being able to ditch my pedalboard for casual jams is a huge bonus, because I still have all the options (and more!) tucked in this little box of wonder. Some reviews point out the software isn't/wasn't great, and I have to sympathize. When I first purchased the amp there was definitely some polishing left to do on both the app and amp firmware. Both have since received several updates and I no longer have any major complaints. (a caveat: I pretty much only use the amp front panel for adjustment, not the app)This is my first modeling amp, and I was looking for low volume and high versatility. I did a bit of comparison shopping and tried out the Mustang GT40, the Yamaha THR10, the Marshall Code 50, and the Boss Katana 50. The Mustang sounds kinda bad and "boxy" in most youtube reviews I saw, but in person I never had a problem. Just make sure you aren't pointing it at your feet. I ended up going with the Mustang over the others because of its interface (over the code) and flexibility (over the yamaha and boss). Frankly, I doubt you could go wrong, as they all seemed like great amps. After using the Mustang almost every day for about 5 months now I still feel I made the right choice, and I can confirm that the Mustang has not disappointed me. I'm still in love. ... show more

  • Highly recommended- 3x buyer!!!
I have nothing but praise for this little powerhouse- I have even been in a small bar with a 3 piece band and it pushed well above its weight! Best tiny amp I ever bought for FX, TONE, VOICE, & simplicity. This is my 3rd purchase of this tiny solid state amp and word of warning- they may last about 2 years with heavy use. Price and satisfaction are worth it! ... show more

  • Solid performer. No, it's not gonna light up an arena. What did you expect?
Nice little amp. Bought it for my son-in-law who was getting his first electric after years of playing acoustics. good sound, nice features, well worth the money. So long as you're reasonable about what you get for the price, it's a very good amp for the money.

  • Fender Champion vs. Fender Acoustasonic15 vs. Behringer Ultraacoustic AT108 side-by-side for Nylon Classical
I am very picky- The Fender Champion blew away the other 2 for tone and versatility. I wanted to spend $100 to get some classical guitar (Alhambra with FIshman pickup system) sound reinforcement. I also like a little reverb. 1. Fender Acoustasonic 15 had very good tone and volume. Very dry though. It has chorus, but I didnt like it. Plus the pot clicked off around the 7oclock position. Why would they put in chorus instead of reverb? I think reverb is more versatile, though both are best, which the Champion provides. Also the Acoustasonic 15 has a closed back with front bass ports. Very good, tight balanced tone for the size. On the other hand is has 6" speaker, vs. Champion which has 8". The 2" makes a difference. 2. Behinger had bad tone for acoustic guitar. Yes it sounds like a tube amp, but it sounds like an electric guitar playing into a tube amp. I wanted a more natural acoustic backdrop. 8" speaker with open back, so the sound was muddier than the acoustasonic. No effects, and this amp was heavier than it needed to be. I played it for half an hour and was not too impressed. 3. Then the Champion came out---THE CHAMPION! Blown away at what is in here for the price. In one word- VERSATILITY! I can get it to sound like a true acoustic... I have a larger Crate Acoustic Gunnison, but too inconvenient to lug around everywhere. I can make the Champion sound just like the crate, but it is 1/2 the size and weight. 8" speaker, and I was skeptical it could compete with a closed back for tightness, but it does! and when I crank the Low, I can make it sound like a strat playing through a large Fender Twin Reverb! I could not believe the bottom end I was getting out of this tiny amp! This tiny amp is like 10 different amps in one package... and $99! Where was this thing when I was in high school? This thing totally kills my Peavey Studio Pro 40 with 12" speaker from the 80's. The effects are awesome. I can get my plain & simple reverb plus a ton of other fun goodies, and using the FX does not seem to affect my volume settings as much as other amps. Oh yeah, one more thing that I personally love- It only has Treble and Bass. Plain and simple. I HATE dealing with a Mid knob, and I always set it down to zero to get the sound I like. This amp saves me the extra step. One Downside: I don't know why they make such a great amp with only one input! I fixed it for cheap with Beringer Micromix MX400- http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-MX400-BEHRINGER-MICROMIX/dp/B000KGYAYQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448153986&sr=8-1&keywords=behringer+mixer+micro Highly recommend! WOW! I can't stop playing with it. If you buy this, you won't regret it!!! ... show more
