I’m a beginner harmonica player learning from videos. These harmonicas ( I’ve bought two) are very playable and have a bright sound which ,as I understand is from bronze reeds. They have a plastic comb which allows for easy cleaning. Rinse them under a faucet after playing and allow them to air dry completely. The gold on black color is distinctive and looks pretty cool. Once I got the hang of it I found bending notes to be easy. These are diatonic harmonicas, the holes are not numbered as others are but it doesn’t hold me back. Not a problem, even for a beginner like me. The plastic case is great.Quality “harps” and fender offers reed plates for customizing your sound. I am only a novice Blues Harmonica player. I first purchased the Fender Blues Deluxe because I wasn't sure how far i want to tale this phase. The Blues Deluxe is very good, I prefer it over my old Hohner Special 20 but I was interested in get a better sound on "bending" and this appears to have delivered. Right out of the box I could sense a different (easier) vibration. So my advice would be if your wavering between the bargain "deluxe" of the value "deville" spend a little extra. ... show more

Fender has made a great harmonica here and I can't believe it isn't getting more press. The Blues Deville has a great rockabilly design and a rich tone. It's airtight and plays just as good as a Hohner, but for a lot less money. Terrific value! Comes in a hard plastic case with a cleaning cloth which is always nice. (cloth and harmonica don't fit in the case together) My only cons with this item is that the channel openings are a little smaller than I am used to, and it's tough to make single notes for a beginner. Also, it's got a little more weight than comparable Hohners. Still, a great buy and one I recommend. ... show more
