  • Great amp great tone !
Style: Blues Deluxe Reissue Color: tweed Configuration: Amp Only
I bought the blues deluxe as a practice amp or just as a grab an go amp. I have been playing through a fender 68 custom twin since 2017. I must say this little 40 watt 112 amp as impressed me to say the least. I do not use channel 2. Nor do i use the effects loop. I do run a small pedalboard with compressor, overdrive, chorus, and delay. I run the board right into the front of the amp, and couldn't be happier with the tone. A lot of reviews stating stock speaker is too bright. I haven't noticed this at all. I've been playing for about 30 years, and playing out about 20 years. So I feel I have the ears for great tone, and this amp delivers it. ... show more

  • Fantastic Sound!
Style: Blues Deluxe Reissue Color: tweed Configuration: Amp Only
If you are looking for a great tube amp in the lower price range, look no further! Man, this delivers. Sweet highs, authentic lows, and everything in between. I recently bought a Fender Mustang 3 v.2 digital mod amp and it drove me crazy for three months. I finally figured out that it's target buyer was a young rocker who wants a lot of distortion effects. I'm older and like a clean sound with an occasional effect, mostly on the cleaner side. I have a wah, echo, eq, chorus, and tuner pedal in my chain. Bought a fuzz for kicks but seldom use it. One thing, I didn't have any luck using the loop in this amp for any combination of my pedals. I called Fender and the guy said he runs all of his pedals between his guitar and one of the two guitar inputs on the amp. I tried it and problem solved. Very helpful rep at Fender, by the way. It recently took me three days to get any kind of response from Gibson. Thanks to the fantastic people at Amazon and the Music Zoo, I was able to just returned the guitar (twisted neck) POSTAGE PAID and I got an email from Amazon that my refund was being applied before I got home from UPS!!! Back to the amp. It comes with a cover and a two button foot switch (mine was tucked way up in the cabinet where I could barely reach it) for reverb and channel select. And this puts out the sound. In my bedroom I haven't been able to turn the volume of the amp OR any of my 3 guitars past "3". It rattles windows. The tweed covering is classy. I use the lower impedience jack for my American Standard Strat and higher for a Les Paul and an electric 12 string, both with hot humbucker outputs. It also has that famous Fender real spring reverb with that famous slap back you can hear on '60's surf records. You can even see the spring housing all along the bottom of the cabinet. But if you want really deep reverb you'll have to augment it with a reverb pedal. Very nice having two different inputs on the amp too. I doubt I'll ever be good enough to perform in a club, but if I ever do, this is the amp I'll be using and the one my kids will have to fight over when I'm under the grass. I was surprised at the difference between a solid state amp and a tube. This one is sweet. Can't wait for my wife to go somewhere so I can crank it up! One slight PITA: the controls are on the rear of the unit as this is a pretty authentic reissue and that's the way they did it "back in the day". I have to have it against a wall in my practice area and had to photo copy of the picture of the controls illustration to help me read the controls backwards. Still absolutely love this amp!!! ... show more

  • Wanted to give 5 🌟 but....
Style: Blues Deluxe Reissue Color: tweed Configuration: Amp Only
This is a very nice amp but I felt it needed a different speaker. As is, lot of high end and the bass (I felt) was tubby. Replaced with eminence Swamp Thang. Way better. Hope this helps. Your call.

  • It'll make your guitar sing!
Style: Blues Deluxe Reissue Color: tweed Configuration: Amp Only
For reference: I am a beginner/intermediate player, and this is my first tube amp. I'm upgrading from a Behringer GMX212, which is a solid-state amp with too many effects for its own good. I've spent hours mucking around trying to find a good sound on it. In just 5 minutes I found my guitar's voice on the Fender Blues Deluxe. This amp is the reason I bought my guitar. It really makes your guitar sing. It has a clean, warm sound, and picks up the characteristics of your guitar's natural sound. Higher notes seem cleaner, and bass notes have a grittier sound. Overall it's perfect for blues, classic rock, and country. There's an effect that will add a serious bite to the higher strings, if enabled. The nuances of the amp come out at higher volumes, which I understand is a characteristic of tube amps. The overdrive is nothing to write home about, so it's not recommended for metal. Although the reverb and presence dials have a noticeable effect. The amp is LOUD, even compared to my 60W solid-state with 2 speakers. It'll hold its own in smaller venues like bars, parties, etc. I encourage you to search YouTube to hear sample sounds of this amp. There's tons of videos, and you should be able to pair the amp up with something close to your guitar model. After my experience with this amp, I'm never going back to solid-state again! ---Amazon Return Policy---- I had to return the first amp sent to me because of a defect. Amazon sent a replacement out right away and with 2 day shipping. I had to pay to ship the original back, but I was refunded within a day or two once Amazon received it. I am very pleased with Amazon's return policy, especially with such a heavy and expensive product. ... show more

  • Great tone...
Style: Blues Deluxe Reissue Color: tweed Configuration: Amp Only
Love this little amp. Just what the Dr. Ordered. Right off the bat I stripped it down to its skiveys and gave it a good laquering to protect the tweed covering so I dont have to worry about dirt and skuffs so much. Now it looks as good as it sounds.

  • Flat and muddy Tone
Style: Blues Deluxe Reissue Color: tweed Configuration: Amp Only
This amp is incredibly well built and I had far greater expectations for it having been a fan of the hot rod deluxe and the blues junior models but I was highly let down by the tone of this amp. The best way to describe it is that it doesn’t sound like a fender amp or a vintage amp. When I plugged in I tried to dial a good tone for the amp or even a neutral tone but It turned out to be a difficult task and when I finally got a tone dialed that was decent for the amp it was flat and when I tried to crank it up and play a tone a little more classic to the amp, I found that the tone was muddy. Pedals are a must for this guitar and the money is better spent elsewhere. ... show more

  • Roots Music Only
Style: Blues Deluxe Reissue Color: tweed Configuration: Amp Only
I had a 50s deluxe 40 years ago; this is not a reissue of that amp. This thing is large and heavy with a particle board cabinet and a flimsy speaker cone. I detested it right out of the box. Then I plugged it in and found it to be the best sounding amp for old school blues, country, or jazz I have played or even heard. One reviewer called this a "one trick pony". There is no question about it. Trying to play metal might well be impossible. ... show more
