Description

The "Sport Package" of Modern Strats Introducing the Fender American Ultra Stratocaster: Fender's high-performance iteration of the modern Stratocaster. It offers several upgrades over traditional designs, including Fender's latest Ultra Noiseless Vintage Strat pickups, a 10–14-inch compound radius fingerboard on an effortless Modern "D" neck, and S-1 switching to roll in fat neck tones on pickup positions 1 and 2. Even if you're a traditionally bent player, don't be dismayed: the American Ultra Stratocaster is a Strat through and through. Its lightweight body is built from traditional Strat tonewoods (alder or ash, dependent on color) and outfitted with a flawless gloss poly finish and coordinating pickguard. Sealed locking tuners and a 2-point Deluxe Synchronised Trem with pop-in arm equip today's players for classic Strat colorization with demanding modern intonation. One feature all our reviewers were quick to note is the tapered low-profile neck heel, which gives you access to fret

  • Absolutely Stunning!
This is my third Fender American Strat. I had the Performer, Professional and Elite and this one is better in every way. The contours and the finish are breathtaking. The build quality is superb. I have only been playing for about six months and this one easily is the easiest to play. Beautiful case. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great guitar with flaws
it's a solid guitar - but it, as usual, needs a full setup. What I don't get is how a guitar company like Fender who does one thing - MAKES GUITARS - does that so poorly that they all require a full setup. yes - you see their price and wonder - is it worth it? So what do you think when you buy one and realize it needs a full set up!? Ok - let's look at what that means. it means you pay $100 (on average) for all the height to be adjust and the intonation brought up to where it needs to be. Then you are told (I have many fenders and can see this on EVERY ONE I HAVE EVER BOUGHT!!) you need to get it PLEK'ed. (you can clearly see that is what you need just playing it - the frets are all uneven and getting the buzz removed form one string requires the frets to be leveled (PLEK'ed).). Let's compare - Martin Guitars decided a long time ago to Plek all their guitars. when you but any Martin and look down it's neck you notice on thin right away - the got the frets perfect! This is ONE company (who makes the best guitars in the world) who do that. I can't say if others do it but I can tell you Fender does NOT, Gibson Does not, may others DO NOT! So - expect, unless you bought the tools and know who to do it yourselves - to pay for a plek and a full setup. What's that mean. Go to a typical place you buy (Amazon is a great place - they have your back) and buy a guitar. when you check out - they offer you what should have been done by the manufacture - a full set up and Plek - for around $300. Is there a difference between before and after? There is zero boubt - it makes a huge difference. What I don't get is why a guitar that cost as much as this one does needs that out of the gate. Martin does it to every guitar - why not slap every Fender in that thing and get it dialed in?! This is where the door is left open for upcoming guitar brands. they give you the Plek, the full setup and decent bone nut and bridge components as part of you new guitar. I am dinging Fender two stars on an otherwise decent guitar for still not making a guitar the way it should be! it's not worth the price to pay premium - then need a the frets to be leveled - BOO! Get it together Fender! STOP slapping frets on a your premium priced guitars and making your customer have to pay yet EXTRA hundreds of dollars to get it playable! this is nonsense! I was super upset when I got yet another Fender that needed to have the frets level and setup dialed in! you MAKE the thing and are supposed to be experts! you tell the world why we should buy a guitar - that still needs yet more work because you still didn't build it right? I can see the build process now. there's a fret machine. you slap the frets in it - hit the press to push them into place, a quick snip snip - ship it! that is just wrong on every level. you can't point out how amazing you did on the wood, the parts you selected - then cut corners on putting it together. what is that?! if you want a Fender - just know they do not Plek their guitars - the do everything to build it - then slap it together. you have to do a lot to get it dialed in after they slap the parts on it. My previous two guitars - Fender Elite telecaster and Strat professional - both had to be Plek'ed and dialed in - a lot. they were way out. for the price - the professional SHOULD have also come with locking tuners (it did not in case you needed to be clear about this). So to the price of the guitar - it was another $300 to get it to decent playing condition.) Fender - take a note form Matrtin - PLEK the darn thing! ... show more
