  • Compact, sealed structure. Equipped with two terminals, ground (black) terminal for connecting to a separate ground rod, fence (red) terminal for connecting to the fence line. Indicator light flashes with pulse, showing working condition. Lightning protection included.Rainproof design, but better indoors or dry location installation in box or under shelter with 110/120 V, 60 Hz line connection . Peak voltage 10 kV, and 5.5 kV under 500 load
  • GROUND ROD (EARTH SPIKE) for earth connection is IMPORTANT to have good performance of fencing system. Warning signs shall be fitted to place where person may gain ready access to the fence.

I needed to put up an electric fence for my small garden after years of trying to use other fencing to keep animals from destroying everything. I watched several videos on you tube so that I would know everything about installing an electric fence system. I went with fiberglass fence posts, 14-gauge alum wire and I put in 3 grounding rods, each 4 1/2' deep. This fenceMate .5 joules had me questioning it's effectiveness from the moment I installed it. My meter readings just didn't seem where they should be and when I tried the blade of grass test I really began to question this energizer. I know I installed everything correctly because I put great detail into studying how to do this. The click was always nice and loud and the power light was great at night to tell it was on and working. After 17 days it just stopped working and I returned it. I don't want another one of these. I usually will wait at least two months before I write any reviews but in this case I just wanted to say I bought one from another company and it is a little more powerful but the results are really impressive. The reading are up there where they are suppose to be and the blade of grass test would have my hand jumping after just moving it an inch closer. ... show more

The energizer arrived fast and was easy to install. It worked perfect for a little less than a month then just stopped working. No Flashing light on the front. No clicking sound coming from the unit. No voltage could be read from the line. Tried different outlets but that didn't help and I even opened up the unit but nothing looked out of the ordinary. Granted I didn't pay an arm and a leg for the unit but I still excepted it to last more than a month. Submitted a question (help request) to the company and am waiting for their reply.
