    • Pretty Good Stretcher
It works pretty good. Heavy metal, works like an old school car jack. Will not close up tight, leaves about 8 - 12 inches open jaw, put then it is just a stretcher. Just have to extend it again, rehook and jack on in some more. Overall works good.

    • Didn't Work
The geometry of the tool is off. The throw length on the ratcheting arm does not align with the teeth. Basically it won't hold tension. Unfortunately, I didn't learn this until being on the customer site. I ended up having to pay employee for a days work when we couldn't do the job. To make matters worse, I'm 2 days outside the return date so I guess I have to eat the cost. I don't typically leave such reviews but I don't want others to be in my position. Lesson learned. Try the tool ahead of time (before using at customer site). I just ordered another type of fence puller. The concept is good. Maybe I just got a defective unit? ... show more

The latch is a bit of a trick, you kinda have to hold onto it until you have a taught line. Other than that, this works great and is a very useful tool when hanging fence. Highly recommend.

    • Nice fence tightening tool
This is a complete game changer when it comes to tightening barb wire out on the field with literally no other tools at all. Just simply grab a very sturdy stick with a slight bend in it or grab some rebar and put this tool on your fence with a few pumps to tighten it and then create a loop and start twisting the wire and then jam the stick or rebar into the same strand maybe even a couple pieces of wire if necessary and your fence is very tight. I usually use a winch or heavy equipment to accomplish this but none of that is necessary when you have this tool. Arrived in great condition with very nice thick coating of durable paint so it should last a long time with a little oil here and there where the parts move. Highly recommended! ... show more

Looks good but it will not grip the Barb wire. I have done my share of fencing and I can tell you this is junk. Just a slips through the grips no matter what I did.

As a woman on a homestead, sometimes I have to work like a man. But, since I don't have the strength of a man, I rely on tools like this fence stretcher to help me get things done. This tool is heavy duty and made extremely well. I'm putting in a new run for more chickens and this tool is perfect. The instructions are minimal but so easy and concise. You can stretch or splice wire fencing easily with this tool. It's a heavy tool (it feels like cast iron to me) but it's easy to hold. I also love that it's bright orange so, if I set it down while I'm working, it'll be easy to find. If you need to do fencing on your property, you need to try this tool. I absolutely love mine.
