I'm 37, 6'3", 195lbs, and have been an automotive technician for 14 years. So you can imagine how my back has endured some hurt over the years. With my back currently hurting; I came home, picked up the package on my front porch, and slapped this brace on immediately. INSTANTLY, I felt relief. I continued to do strenuous activities wearing the brace. Practiced a '2nd amendment' activity I compete in, lifted some heavy things around the house that needed moved, played with my son, did a couple more chores, and then sat down at my computer with my 'needing improvement' posture. I feel nothing. This brace is very comfortable, it does not bother me at all wearing it, and I've concluded this device is extremely effective. This back brace is well made and adjustable. Gives my back the support it needs while driving and riding in the car. I previously had one made specifically for my back years ago. This fits as well and is as comfortable and as supportive as that one.

I wear this to help when sciatica flares up. I have 2; one in the car and one in the office. It seems durable but I haven't had to wash it yet. I always wear it over an undershirt then I have an outer shirt. Almost never against my skin for any real length of time but it's soft enough that I would if I had to. This does the job for me and I haven't felt the need to shop for any alternative braces. 3 stars in pain relief category is because this doesn't relieve pain for me but it does give enough support to let me push through discomfort during activities and chores that I need/want to do.

I have both scoliosis and stenosis in my lower back. While the pain is not intense, I need support to be more comfortable. This brace accomplishes that. I can straighten up while wearing this brace and not be tempted to fold forward. It provides the support that I need in a simple to put on band with a velcro closure. It is also adjustable. Due to my size and using the measurements given in the description, I got 3X and it fits fine. My physical therapist says it is the kind she recommends for her patients and I wear it during PT. I am thinking of getting a second one just in case.

Cons - I am sure this may help for certain people with light aches but not for Sciatica. Also product did not fit regardless of measuring properly ,I am 6'2 190 and l/XL barely fit around my waist even though i measured over 40 inches. The outside straps sit at the hips. Velcro is too strong. I almost hurt my back trying to unstrap it. This actually made my Sciatica feel worse and was more like a waist trainer than a lumbar supporter for Sciatica releif because you will get none. When people are injured badly they will do anything to releive the pain but this will not help. The makers of these belts know if a buyer doesn't like it they are probably too injured to return within the window. It has decent reviews because it is cheaply priced for people with light aches where it fits perfectly but those are the 1 in 10's. Remember, you get what you pay for. This is nothing more than a glorified waist trainer. Had it for 1 day,now gotta hobble to store to return ship for refund or send someone for me. I should have known this in my pain but if a 25$ brace would relieve Sciatica pain they would be sold out. Take care everyone. This is not a knock on Amazon ,it is just this specific product and all other velcro belts here. Save your money for ice and heat packs. Amazon does have gel packs that freeze or microwave so you can treat with both temps. They have worked great. Hot water bottles do to and they have them for 7$ .If you want a belt to help lift heavy items buy one with over the shoulder straps that cost twice as much but better protection like the ones a mover would use. Their is no price worth paying for a pain free back.....pros - Update, I received the XXL after return and even though it does not releive any Sciatica pain,with the right size it can at least keep your back stable and straight if the pain is too much to straighten out on your own. I can also fit a microwave heat pad in there that you can buy on Amazon to keep it still. Because of this,I am raising my review to 3 stars. It does at least have some use.
