I purchased 2 of the 6-shelf x 48" wire racks at a great price for my garage. I'm familiar with putting together this type and had no problems til the very end. As I unpacked, I didn't see the damaged shelf and that just happened to be the very last shelf (top) being put on - there was no damage or wrinkling at all on the box, so it was packaged damaged at the factory. I only noticed when I had difficulty getting the shelf to fit down onto its corner. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. See pic. I've given it 4 stars for several reasons. 1 - putting the racks together was easy because of the organization of the parts; 2 - these might not be the most heavy duty but they are sturdy, well made, no wobbles, and the sale price of $99 was great for this tall, wide size with good quality wheels w/locks; 3 - when I discovered the damage, there is a warranty sheet in the box and I contacted FDW by email asking fir one replacement shelf but they declined, saying it was Amazon's responsibility. As everyone knows, Amazon requires everything to repackaged and returned and they will simply refund you. I just needed one shelf, so it's not worth it to me to dismantle & return, just to take another chance of a damaged unit. Great shelves; you're taking a chance on getting a damaged unit, so read the reviews - FDW doesn't warranty any damage. ... show more

Came well packaged. Nothing bent or broken. Beautiful black color, well made, with durable steel! Perfect for growing seedlings on! They were very easy to assemble! The instructions were great to have. Nice weight to them, not to heavy, and not flimsy. I wanted the shelves evenly apart. So I started by putting my 1st clips on the bottom of the legs, on the 4th notch from the bottom, where there’s two rings. After that I measured each shelf to be 14 inches apart, and put each clip on the closest notch to where it measured 14 inches on the measuring tape. Here’s a tip. When you get to the last shelf, put the clips as high as they can go, on the last notch on the very top. That way the shelf can sit evenly with the poles. Soon as I got everything figured out with the first shelf, I was able to set the second shelf up in like 10 minutes! It went like a breeze! I’m 110 lbs or so, and was able to stand and hang on the shelves to help get them in place, and it held my weight fine! So happy we got them, and we actually just purchased one more! Can’t wait for it to come, so we can start some more seedlings! 🌱 ... show more

These are solid great quality shelving units that are really easy to assemble. The thing I love most about them is you can set the shelf distances however you need them and are not stuck with a set distance. I use the wheels so if we need to paint the closet the roll right out and no having to take everything off the unit. I have them in our basement for storage and love how much they can hold. They are way less expensive than a custom closet . We have them in our bedroom closet too and have the hanging racks. The custom solution was over $1000 for each side of the closet. We got the 2 side done with these units for under $200. ... show more

I got this shelving unit for my bedroom, where it holds everything that is too big for my dressers, but won't fit in my tiny closet. It replaces a 36-inch-wide unit I got from the bullseye place several years ago, and is superior in two major ways besides the width: 1) This unit is 78" tall without the casters, and 82" with them -- making it 6" taller than anything else that isn't custom-cut. In my tiny, 800-square-foot house, vertical space is everything, and that extra height means I finally have a place for all my shoes! 2) The black finish is satin, not rough. Other than that, what you see is what you get. If you take your time to get the shelf clips even, with the narrow end facing upward, and hammer the shelves down with a rubber mallet, you should have no problem. 1) Make sure you are getting the right version. The heavy-duty units have fewer horizontal support wires, but the ones in the middle are reinforced; on the standard-duty units, they're all in single rows. That said, the standard-duty units are just fine for most people's needs when set up correctly. 2) Place the items you plan to use on the shelves as you build upward. This not only keeps the unit more stable, but ensures you won't have to readjust for a miscalculation later on. Trust me, that's a pain. 3) Don't screw in the top halves of the poles until the bottom shelves are all set up. ... show more
