Helmets are a real personal choice and you should really weigh the cost and quality of a helmet to what you think your brain is worth. A highly protective helmet is going to run $400+ but what if you can't justify or afford that much right now? Junk helmets can be had for $30 and may help if you fall in the shower but in a real crash are worthless (in my opinion). And who wears a helmet in the shower anyways? This helmet may be a good compromise for someone on a budget. It doesn't cost very much and it's not junk. I think if you're looking for an OK starter helmet you should consider this Favoto. It is DOT certified, the inner padding OK, it has a foam inner shell, the ABS outer shell doesn't flex too much when squeezed, it has a quick release chin strap (although I recommend double D buckles for better security), it has air vents to reduce (but not eliminate) fogging, and for $50-70 appears to be built very well. It weighs 3 lbs. 9 oz. and includes a flip up clear visor, a smoked visor and an "anti-fog visor insert" (which don't work very well in my experience). The finish is matt black and has open space to accommodate ear speakers and a mic if you wish to install something. The inner bonnet easily snaps in and out for cleaning. When you get the correct size it feels comfortable to wear. I would NOT compare this to my Arai helmet for quality or protection. Do your research while you still have a functioning brain. For 1/10 the money I would say this Favoto is a good starter helmet, but please spend as much as you can afford on a helmet - you are worth it. You're only going to REALLY need your helmet "that one time" and then you're going to wish you had spent a lot more.

My first reaction when I received this helmet was: it is more stylish than the picture! The carbon fiber appearance is textured and does not look plastic. The accessories include transparent and brown lenses, which are easy to switch. The ventilation holes are designed reasonably, so you won't feel stuffy when wearing it in summer. The overall wrapping feeling of the helmet is good, the internal padding is of moderate thickness, and it is detachable and washable, so it is easy to take care of after long-term use. The buckle design is also very easy to operate, and it is easy to put on and take off.

This helmet feels solid and gives a good sense of safety without being too bulky or heavy. The vents really help keep things cool on warm rides and the padding inside is comfortable even after wearing it for a while (unlike other ones I've used). I like that it comes with an anti-fog film, which helps a lot on foggy or rainy mornings. The visor gives a wide view and the tinted lens is a nice extra when the sun’s out. The quick-release buckle is simple and secure, which makes it easy to take off when stopping. It’s DOT approved and seems like a solid option for the price. Overall this helmet offers good protection, comfort and features at a really fair value.

I got this for my son to wear, as he is nearly a teenager and has been very interested in his friends dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. Although I'd rather him not go on any of that stuff, I want him to be safe when he inevitably does. He has always said helmets look stupid etc. which of course I don't care lol, you gotta wear one. This one changed his view on that though. He loves this thing. He has tried it on numerous times and it fits him great. We both love the extra tinted face shield that came with it. We had to put that on immediately. There were no instructions on how to do this, however we found some videos online of similar styles and were able to figure it out. It did take awhile though. Overall, this is a very nice helmet. I guess we won't fully know how well it protects unless it does it job one day (hopefully no accidents and we never need to find out!). Compared to other helmets I've seen the quality is as good.

This helmet looks nice and is DOT approved. The helmet's finish is attractive and has a good carbon fiber effect. The visors that this comes with, a tinted one and a clear one, are nice and clear. The helmet doesn't weigh your head down and is actually pretty light. This helmet, despite being an XL, did not fit my large head. I would say the sizing is about one size smaller than what you would normally wear. Another potential downside is that this helmet is only DOT approved, and not SNELL approved. Typically a SNELL rating carries more weight, so make sure you do your research on what helmet you want and what your budget is. I do think that, for the money, this is a nice helmet, just be sure you get the most helmet that you can afford.

I ordered this helmet in medium, and it fits perfect and true to size. It isn't heavy on the head or the neck, for which I am glad. The padding is so comfortable, and just the right amount of cheek pressure. There is no chemical smell or bad smell. It comes with a clear and a dark shield. It has chin, top, and rear vents to promote continuous cooling. Each helmet comes with free anti-fog film. Favoto motorcycle helmets meet DOT, FMVSS-218 safety standards. Constructed with a high-impact ABS shell and multi-density EPS liner for energy absorption. Available in M-to-XXL with a universal sizing chart. The fit, function, materials quality, build quality, and price, make this motorcycle helmet a great value, and I do recommend it 100%.
