Helmets are a real personal choice and you should really weigh the cost and quality of a helmet to what you think your brain is worth. A highly protective helmet is going to run $400+ but what if you can't justify or afford that much right now? Junk helmets can be had for $30 and may help if you fall in the shower but in a real crash are worthless (in my opinion). And who wears a helmet in the shower anyways? This helmet may be a good compromise for someone on a budget. It doesn't cost very much and it's not junk. I think if you're looking for an OK starter helmet you should consider this Favoto. It is DOT certified, the inner padding OK, it has a foam inner shell, the ABS outer shell doesn't flex too much when squeezed, it has a quick release chin strap (although I recommend double D buckles for better security), it has air vents to reduce (but not eliminate) fogging, and for $50-70 appears to be built very well. It weighs 3 lbs. 9 oz. and includes a flip up clear visor, a smoked visor and an "anti-fog visor insert" (which don't work very well in my experience). The finish is matt black and has open space to accommodate ear speakers and a mic if you wish to install something. The inner bonnet easily snaps in and out for cleaning. When you get the correct size it feels comfortable to wear. I would NOT compare this to my Arai helmet for quality or protection. Do your research while you still have a functioning brain. For 1/10 the money I would say this Favoto is a good starter helmet, but please spend as much as you can afford on a helmet - you are worth it. You're only going to REALLY need your helmet "that one time" and then you're going to wish you had spent a lot more.

My first reaction when I received this helmet was: it is more stylish than the picture! The carbon fiber appearance is textured and does not look plastic. The accessories include transparent and brown lenses, which are easy to switch. The ventilation holes are designed reasonably, so you won't feel stuffy when wearing it in summer. The overall wrapping feeling of the helmet is good, the internal padding is of moderate thickness, and it is detachable and washable, so it is easy to take care of after long-term use. The buckle design is also very easy to operate, and it is easy to put on and take off.

This is a great helmet! It is very comfortable and comes with 3 different interchangeable lenses. Full Clear, full shaded and clear eyes only. I use with the shaded lens and it looks really dope! It has the must have DOT certification. I love that the lenses are anti-fog and the helmet itself low has air intake vents that are closable for when it’s cold out. Really great helmet for the price! It has everything you need and looks great while keeping you safe out there!

This helmet feels very sturdy and I love the styling. I got a medium and discovered that I would need a large helmet as the medium is a bit tight. I thought that might be the case, but at the time the medium was the largest available helmet. The item arrived packed well, in the box were a couple extra shields and a bag to carry the helmet in. Very nice helmet with plenty of padding.

This helmet is great for my needs as I'm using for a higher powered scooter. It came very well packaged and even included a bunch of extras. The vent hole areas are also very welcomed given that it is over 90 degrees lately and they really allow air to be pulled in. I will say I don't know how "crash safe" it is as I don't plan on crashing but I hope I never have to find out. I believe it's a very good quality helmet that isn't going to break the bank.

Great fit and quality. I have a big head I guess the large fits me the way it's supposed to. Comfortable and I've gone from my home to San Diego in it which is around a 140mile trip didn't have an issue with it making my head hurt after a long time great helmet

This helmet looks nice and is DOT approved. The helmet's finish is attractive and has a good carbon fiber effect. The visors that this comes with, a tinted one and a clear one, are nice and clear. The helmet doesn't weigh your head down and is actually pretty light. This helmet, despite being an XL, did not fit my large head. I would say the sizing is about one size smaller than what you would normally wear. Another potential downside is that this helmet is only DOT approved, and not SNELL approved. Typically a SNELL rating carries more weight, so make sure you do your research on what helmet you want and what your budget is. I do think that, for the money, this is a nice helmet, just be sure you get the most helmet that you can afford.
