I saw the owner of Fastcap on Youtube demonstrating how he uses his product to make custom arch supports. I don't want to spend $300 on custom arch supports from the podiatrist but I work on my feet all day and it's beginning to take a toll. Following the instructions in the video and on the package, I was able to make custom arch supports that felt GREAT when I put them in my shoes. It was AMAZING! It only took a couple minutes to do. So as a product I think this is great and can serve many purposes. It's very malleable and can be dunk in hot water and re-molded if you don't like the way it turned out. The video I saw on Youtube.com for this product was spot on for using this material for how to made your own custom arch supports. The material is easy to work with, taking only about 3 minutes to make my own arch supports, which work perfectly.     • Great product, when it works
This is a great idea and a grunt product. However, a few things kept the rating down. First, the product must be submerged in boiling water b apply it. Unfortunately, it floats rather well I and this resulted in it heating unevenly. This was not a large problem, as I simply boiled it longer. Second, when boiling, it had a tendency to float around and stick to the pot, where it would begin to melt away. Even when using a non-stick surface, this would occur. So, keep it away from the edges of the pot. Third, much like duct tape, it sticks to itself initially much better than it sticks to other things. When removing it from the boiling water, make sure not to let it fold on itself until you are actually placing on as a handle and want to seal the ends together. Last, you have very little time to remove this from the water and place on your object. Thirty seconds proved to be much to long for the product to retain its stickiness. Even after ten seconds, it starts to stop sticking very well because it cools rather quickly. All together a great bargain with a great idea. I'm just have someone whose quicker do it if you are a bit older and slower like Me. Either that or be prepared to try a couple times. At least its reusable. ... show more

    • Perfect for DIY orthotics
The price for my orthotics for plantar fasciitis just doubled, so I checked out the Internet for alternatives. The FAST CAP worked great. I cut out what I needed, based on my existing orthotic and applied it to the hard foam inserts (also ordered online) and got great orthotics for less than half price. The FASTCAP was easy to soften in a pan of hot water, then shaping it was a cinch. I've been wearing the new, homemade orthotics for walking and jogging for about a month now and they're every bit as good as the expensive ones, and just a comfortable.     • Fantastically versatile but can be tricky
I love this stuff! I've used it for multiple handles on guns and other items. Versatile and useful for sure. It can be difficult to work with and takes practice.
