  • It can be done!
I used one kit (7x8) to build a 10x12 greenhouse instead of a shed. I also covered the greenhouse in plastic rather than poly-carbonate sheets. Because of this, I was able to use just one kit (7x8) to build a 10x12 greenhouse. Here's a brief description of how I modified the plan to make it work: First, I built the base for a 10x12 shed. Then I cut the rafters and cross ties to the length mentioned in the plans for a 10x22 shed which gave me the 10 foot width I wanted. But since one kit only comes with enough brackets to make four arches, instead of spacing the arches 32 inches on center, (as the plans for one kit (7x8) requires), I spaced them 48 inches on center which gave me the 12 foot length I wanted. Remember, I did not cover the structure in plywood sheathing or roofing so the 48 inch spacing did not matter. Then I purchased three 2x4x12s, for the ridge beams and voila, I had a 10x12 greenhouse. I did install diagonal bracing on each long wall just for good measure. The greenhouse is very sturdy, roomy and will last a good long time. But just so you know, 1 kit can make a 10x12 greenhouse covered in plastic. ... show more

  • Good kit, but not sure I'd do it again...
This kit, is a good product... It does the exact function the makers claim it will. That said, if I were building another shed, I would just stick frame it myself.. The lit comes with directions, and the best part is the materials list and cut list.. I tend to 'overbuy' building material and never return the extra, so I suspect I saved enough money on lumber to nearly pay for the kit just because they told me how much to buy, and they were correct. Following the instructions is simple enough, but if your surface is not completely level, the assembly of the 'arches' you make (per the instructions) is difficult.. you will NEED additional people to hold things in place while you nail/screw things together.. you will NEED multiple people on ladders to do the hardest part of the whole project, which is inserting the long 'stringers' into the slots on the arches. (particularly the ridge board, as it is a good 10-11 feet off the ground. Remember,.. this kit is a good kit, the brackets they provided work just fine, and the instructions are pretty helpful. Your experience level will likely dictate how valuable it is to you.. ... show more

  • Should have built my own trusses but it works.
It works, I was trying to save time and not build my own trusses, but this really gave me a headache after the first set I built got bent to all heck. Here's the best tip you'll get: screw the side brackets to the studs and the rafters, flip and put the bracket on the other side. Once you get 2 line them up and put the 1 middle bracket on. Before flipping measure and screw your cross tie on. Then flip and screw the other middle bracket on. With the cross tie on it won't bend the brackets and you can easily move it yourself. ... show more

  • GREAT BUT A LITTLE AWKWARD TO SET UP
It worked great & the instructions & cut board measurements were spot on. The only problem we had was that you needed "3" people to lift & support the wall sections despite the directions saying only 2 people were needed. In starting out with only 2 people, the metal frame pieces bent & it was extremely difficult to balance the section evenly & square in order to secure it in place. That's why I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating. I would definitely buy this product again. We used ours as a greenhouse over a raised bed garden. Second photo doesn't show the door on yet. ... show more

So far so good. You'd have to be a complete idiot to not figure out how to build this, even with its not so great instructions. I built this by myself, not one person helped. Wasn't the easiest thing to do by myself but can be done. The one thing I would recommend, whether building solo or with help, is to get all the side walls up first then attach the truss. Much easier than building entire section and trying to raise. I'll let Ya know how it holds up after the first tropical storm or hurricane... ... show more

Frame only. Expects to have a base and floor already in place for the frame to sit on. THe directions are very vague, 2 pages front and back for the kit contencts, required materials and assembly instructions for 4 different size sheds. If your planning on finishing the inside very difficult, studs on sides are perpendicular to wall and front & Back they are flat against wall. The fast brackets at the rafters prevent a ceiling from being put in. ... show more

  • Works but very flimsy
You will definitely save money using this kit. There is very little wood needed to build this shed and it is fairly sturdy once the outside is put on the frame. These things are very flimsy and the walls do not stand by themselves. BUT I built one shed with this kit and the kit and wood cost about $150 and took about 30 hours. I built a second shed by framing and standing up the walls This took a total of 9 hours but cost $250. So you chose time or money. I would chose the time next time. ... show more

  • Used as Playhouse
Loved the price for this kit. Instructions were included but you really should have some construction knowledge before attempting this. Required 2 people to lift sides as it doesn't make a real solid unit, bends a lot when lifting so just plan ahead. Made a Playhouse for the g'kids and even though I do not have the outside completed, they are using and loving it! ... show more
