As game sequels go, Farming Simulator 17 does everything right: graphics, gameplay and performance all improved over the previous version (FS15). Is it a perfect game? No. Is it a well made and fun farm sim? Absolutely. I'm reviewing this as someone who started on Farm Sim 2013 on PS3 no less. I moved to FS15 on PS4 and now I just started with FS17. After about 8 hours of playtime I'm very pleased with this game overall. The functional improvements are integrated seamlessly and address many of the shortcomings of the previous game(s). New features that make the game more complex and more rewarding, like the new animals system and stages in soil care (and mods on console!), are welcome. I'm on my third iteration of this franchise and FS17 feels both brand new and familiar at once, a testament to the top notch developers. Are you trying out Farming Simulator for the first time? Then this is a great time to do it. Not only are you getting the best looking and performing version so far, the game also has a complete tutorial and database built in. My PS4 boxed copy also has an honest to goodness, quarter inch thick full color manual! Didn't realize how much I missed a manual with my games, so publishers take note- we want manuals back (I do anyways). If you take the time with the tutorials you'll be good to go, even though it seems like there's a lot to learn at first. One of the best ways to learn how to use the machines in the game is the new for FS17 job system. By doing jobs on other farmers fields (sowing and harvesting, plowing, cultivating, fertilizing) you get practice using the various equipment in the game. Each successful job earns money for your farm and a discount on the field price (should you want to buy it in the future). There's a time limit but no penalty for failing so try again if a job gives you trouble. Returning players will enjoy the new interactive map which makes getting around and managing the farm easier than ever. Also new is the array of game settings so you can customize the way you play. About 2/3 of the in game machinery and placeables are new for this edition. The biggest additional feature on console has to be mods. There is a mod hub built into the game where new or modified versions of almost anything in the game will (probably) appear. Compared to the PC there are some limits but it's a revelation for console players. Buy with confidence, this game is well done.

This game is the best. Once you start playing and getting into it you will look at the clock and find out you have been playing for hours on end. I think it's a great game for all to use kids and grownups alike. I had the first farming simulator that they made for the PS3, and it was fun and all but they never had any updates for it or mods like this one has. Now there are no zombies in this game, and no there is no blood and guts if you run over someone with the equipment. But it will help your kids on how to manage money and to use a schedule for crops to make everything run smoothly. But all in all it's just a fun game to play .

Its a cool game but i got bored with it. Was hoping it would be like SimCity in some sort of way. The graphics are good (PS4) and all the updates with added maps and equipment updates has been free. If you know nothing about farming this game will quickly put you in the 'know' on the names of farming equipment companies, how to grow different crops, and how to grow/harvest them and the different equipment needed in the process. It's extremely detailed and gives you tips along the way to get your farm growing and you can expand into buying different farm animals which you will be responsible for feeding regularly. Overall it's probably the best farming game you will play.

I love this game. It is just a fun and relaxing game to play on your free time. I loved playing harvest moon and this game reminds me of the joy of farming. The graphics look great and game play is just great. As this is the first farming simulator game that I have bought I can say that I will be playing this game for a long time. I really like how there are no loading screens and that the maps are just sooo huge. The machines are just fantastic looking. And I also love the fact that there are mods for this game that just enhance the playing experience.

Okay, I'm an adult. I'm 20 years old and I love this game! It's so fun. It's realistic and teaches you about farming and having to borrow money and pay it back. It's just a fun game overall, you could spend hours on this game. They added so many new things since the last farming simulator 15. There's trains now and more upgrades for tractors! There's even a radio for your tractor and they have some great music that keeps the game upbeat. Highly recommend, even for little ones. My son loves this game as well, he enjoys watching the tractors. Hope this helps

The game is very slow paced. Seems like you do have to do a lot for other farmers as opposed to tending to your own farm. Not a fan.

Sorry to spoil the 5 star rating. But this sequel let me down. Fields are too small, game is geared more forestry (almost a GTA map) as opposed to a farming game. Game is full of glitches!! Mostly when hiring a worker. Worker will become confused when ex.sowing and instead of continuing to progress on field it will for no reason turn the other way, sow what it just did!! Also if you "create a field" this exposes you to a who other list of confusion when hearing a worker. It's as if the game doesn't register there is a field there now! Game is a big let down from the preceding titles (13 and 15)!!

If you are into simulator games this is the one for you. I know it might not seem like a fun experience but don't knock it before you try it. Realistic and fun I can spend hours playing this game without a blink of an eye. Ongoing game play leaves you wanting more and worth the price. I play this on PS4 Pro so be prepared for an update right out of the package.
