Description

The Farmall tractor is one of the most significant and popular farm tractors ever. From the early 1920s through to 1960, IHC was the dominant maker of tractors. In fact, in the peak of the the postwar boom, IHC was selling nearly a million Farmall tractors annually. That historic mark is still treasured by enthusiasts, and is second only to John Deere. In this quality paperback of Farmall: Eight Decades of Innovation, the history of the Farmall is traced from the first Farmall, developed in the early 1920s, through to the new Farmall compact tractors being produced by CNH in 2004 and beyond. The book combines a broad cultural history of the make with photos of restored machines, color and black and white archival photography, and sidebars profiling farmers who worked with Farmalls from the early days and on. This is a softbound edition in a reduced size of Farmall: Eight Decades of Innovation ISBN 0760321361. Read more

  • Great Book of Farmall Tractors
Format: Paperback
This book was a fantastic gift for my husband. He has been a dairy farmer his whole life and has now "retired" to raising beef cattle. Farmall tractors have been part of his life for over forty years now, so he loves reading about them. This book is full of information on many different tractors with beautiful and colorful pictures of old and new tractors. Anyone who loves Farmall tractors and appreciates them would love to spend time in this book. The book was in perfect condition and was shipped quickly. ... show more

  • Good photos, questionable history
Format: Paperback
Beautifully designed book, but not a great read. Historical info is not linear, tons of technical engine information is mixed in with dollops of generalized historical facts without very much flow. Overall it gave me a good grasp of the history of the Farmall, but tried too hard to combine specific tractor info with the story of the tractor. ... show more

I thought this was a really great book with accurate descriptions and history. The authors have done their research! I recommend it to anyone interested in IH/Farmall/McCormick tractors and equipment.

  • Farmall Book
Format: Paperback
This is a very good book with perhaps the most complete company history I've seen. Good pictures as well.
