Received this the other day and hooked it up in my garage for my two very large dogs. Was very happy (as I'm sure were my dogs) to see that the bucket is holding up fine and keeping the water from freezing wonderfully, with nights having been close to zero degrees so far. I had previously used a regular heated bowl that was shallow and messy to bring in to clean the slobber out of and refill. When I went to hook that up this winter, it was apparently broken, as I kept finding frozen water in it, so from then til now I've been using a tin pail, which has been an even bigger pain to bring in, run hot water over to thaw out and release the ice, then clean and refill. This bucket is nice because of its good-size capacity of 2 gallons but especially for it's bucket style which just holds water better and makes for easier trnasporting in and out with its handle. Northern MN winters will be the best test for this bucket, so I will be sure to update this review if it doesn't last through the season. Very happy I purchased it so far... UPDATE: I'm on my second winter using this bucket, and although I did find frozen water in it once, I would still recommend it and give it five stars, as this happened on a night of subzero temps (don't remember the exact temp though--I'm thinking -10 or so). I could still feel that the bottom of the pail was warm, trying to do its job, but it was just too cold out for the water to stay warmed throughout (plus, it was next to the open service door, allowing it to be exposed to some wind as well). ... show more

I purchased the 16 gallon heated bucket and was able to next day ship it before a big snow hit us. We put it in our horses stall and it has worked wonderfully! The best size comparison I can make is to a mineral tub, just slightly smaller. I love that the element is fixed, covered, and it says replaceable though we have not had to try that yet. I ended up ordering 3 more and sharing with family members. The only suggestion I would have as far as design is I wish it had a spot to hook a bucket leash to. She has not done it yet but our horse is notorious for turning her water buckets over. But thankfully this is not her full time waterer, just when weather gets bad. Overall it definitely beats the floating tank de-icers that have shocked us, melted buckets, and overall just worry me to death. ... show more

This turned out to be a "NOT SO GREAT" purchase. The product was purchased in the fall because it was on sale, and it was likely I would need it soon with Winter coming. During a bitterly cold snow and ice event, I pulled it of my shelf, filled it with water and plugged it in. A few hours later the water was bathtub warm and I was happy for my young goats. The next morning when I checked on the goats the water bucket was a solid block of ice - sometime overnight it stopped working. I have tried communicating with the seller - NO RESPONSE. I am waiting see if they will respond to Amazon's request, and what Amazon is going to do. NOT A GOOD PURCHASE FOR ME. 😔 *******UPDATE ******* THIS HEATED WATER BUCKET HAS 1 YEAR WARRANTY CLEARLY ADVERTISED ON THE FRONT LABEL. I HAVE SUBMITTED AMAZON CLAIM. ... show more
