This sleeping bag is very comfortable. It is a nylon type material inside and out bit the inside is soft and almost feels like cotton. I am planning a number of backpacking trips this summer into fall. I just got back from a coastal trip with my wife and this bag did not disappoint. The temps got down to 43° and I was warm all night. Half the night I had my arms outside the bag. Definitely satisfied with this backpack. As far as weight it is a little heavier at four and a half pounds and it does take a bit more space but I might be able to compress it more with a different compression sack. I purchased this sleeping bag for a camping trip and was very pleased with how warm and comfortable it kept me on a chilly night when the temperature dropped to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. However, after about 20 nights of use, the zipper broke which was a major disappointment. While the sleeping bag was a great choice for staying warm in cold weather, I found it to be a bit snug for someone of my height and weight. As someone who is 5'10" and weighs 220 pounds, I found the sleeping bag to be a bit too tight for my liking. Despite the zipper issue and size limitations, the sleeping bag was still a great purchase for staying warm in below freezing temperatures. However, if I were to buy another sleeping bag, I would opt for a bigger size to ensure more comfort and less restriction of movement. Overall, I would recommend this sleeping bag to others who are looking for a reliable and warm option for cold weather camping. It kept my kiddo warm camping in 35° nights in the rocky mountains, he loved the hood to cuddle down in, and it is easy enough to make it compact for carrying. Have not washed it yet to see how it holds up.

We've had two of these for our kids for 4+ years. Initially, I bought them for summer camping and didn't think too deeply on the temperature rating. It has been colder than usual up in the foothills for camping (40 deg. and damp at night) and my kids have slept soundly while my husband and I are layering blankets inside and over our sleeping bags. The kids do add one of their home blankets to the inside for comfort, but these extra blankets are not warm on their own. Even with the cold temps, the kids leave an arm out and fall asleep quickly. Bought this for my son's summer camp trip to replace one that he used last year that wasn't warm enough. THE GOOD:He said this was good, warmer and comfortable. it's nice and long as he's almost 6 feet. Lots of filling which is probably why it's warmer. THE BAD: 1)When he got back I put in washer as you can image how smelly it was after a week of use by a teen boy. I was disappointed that the seams didn't hold up. As you can see from the first picture, it's unraveling. 2)Putting it back in its sackbag was very difficult. We had to tie it with a rope first and then spent about 10 minutes squeezing it into the sack. To much time if you're in a hurry when camping. 3) one of the other straps on the bag wasn't sewn so it can come loose as it'll go through the clasp (compare picture 2 with 4). I'm past return window so guess I'll try to sew it and look for a bigger sack bag (didn't really want to spend money on a sack cover for a bag only used one week per year) ... show more
