  • Sturdy!
Pros: - Sturdy! There's no wiggling or dipping. I've never felt this secure in a chair before. - Easy to assemble. - Can be assembled, easily, totally solo. - Supportive, in the same way the seat of a car is. Because that's exactly what it feels like I'm sitting on. - Comfortable seat, but lets see how long it holds up. Cons: - Most fat people are not 6'5". Most fat people are of average height. Most people are of average height, hence why it's considered average. I'm sure this chair is great for the tall fat people. But can those of us of standard height get a chair.. or pants..? Please? I'm 5'6" (afab) and fat.. and my heels do not touch the ground at the lowest setting. But I was aware this would be a problem. As they only make chairs for fat tall people... - The arm rests are rock solid hard smooth plastic. And again, I'm not not 6'5". So even at the highest setting the arm rests are too low for me. As mentioned above, I was expecting it. So if you're not 6'5".. order some thick foam arm rest covers for the comfort and the HEIGHT.. 'cause you're not 6'5". Why? Because most people aren't... - The arm rests do not lock in position. And they're super easy to turn, they require very little force. So if you're not 6'5", as most people aren't, and have to pull yourself back up into the seat 'cause your heels don't touch the floor.... you're gonna rotate the arm rests from side to side. It's gonna be annoying. - The back is firm. But this isn't a recliner, it's a chair. So don't expect a cloud to cradle your spine. If you do.. you'll be sadly disappointed. But a smidgen more give, would be very much appreciated. - As we've all learned by now, I'm not 6'5".. so the back is a few inches is too high. That makes the pillow too high as well. But that usually sorts it's self out as I tug it down two dozen times a day and will eventually wear out the elastic so it settles lower. If you are also of average height, like most people on the planet, take that into consideration. Meh: - My vibrating lumbar support works, but I don't need lumbar support and it's essentially a cheapie bullet mushed into the center pillow. I can't imagine it's vibrating does anything for anyone.. At least not for their back. It played no part in my decision to purchase this chair.. but it works! ... show more

  • Big, Comfortable & Affordable
At time of review, I've used the Fantasy Lab Big & Tall 400lb Massage Memory Foam Gaming Chair for 1 week and 2 days; I'll update this review over time, if needed. I was very surprised how comfortable and well made this chair is. Only time will tell if it lasts, but it feels and appears to be good quality for the money. Assembly - easy, especially if you've built furniture before. If you have zero experience, follow the instructions; they're written & drawn decently. Should take 20-30 minutes for the 'handyman' among us; 45 minutes to 1 hour for the less experienced. Parts - large bolts and thick metal (steel?) throughout the chair. It should last. The hydraulic seems easy enough to replace when it goes out, as they ALL go out with time - use vice grips / channel locks to pull the hydraulic from the base of chair and stand; don't go crazy squeezing on the hydraulic tube as it's pressurized! Measure the hydraulic at a few points and order a new replacement (class 4 hydraulic); no need to buy a brand new chair! Watch some YouTube videos on 'office chair hydraulic replacement'. Comfort - was really surprised how comfortable this is! I've used cheap(er) office chairs for years, but they would break after 2-4 years of use (all plastic frames/bases) and were not as comfortable as the Fantasy Lab chair. The foam is very firm, which I like for better support, and they tend to last much longer than soft(er) foam. Very happy! For comparison: I'm 6'3 and 220 lbs with broad shoulders and average build. It fits me well. I was worried about the 'racing seat' style as many chairs are very narrow and tight fitting around the shoulders. This chair is more broad, open and the angular sides aren't restrictive as others - that matters to larger / broader shouldered people! Why 'gaming chairs' need to be 'racing chairs' makes no sense, as I've sat behind the wheel of real race cars - racing seats are designed to LIMIT your movement with your hands/arms elevated towards a steering wheel; they are not very comfortable for long periods! Why would you want that as a gaming or office chair? Don't follow trends; most trends are dumb. This chair has the look of a cool 'racing style chair' without the uncomfortable design. Armrests - the 3 directions are very useful. The padding is very firm, but does 'give' a little (cushion); I prefer that over soft armrests, but after market pads can always be added if needed. Has a slick, rubbery-plastic feel. Tilt / Rock - fully adjustable and seems very solid. Has a bit of a side-to-side wobble that I didn't notice until the 4th or 5th day, but isn't bothersome, and likely related to the 'rocking' function (adjustable as well). Aesthetics - The black with red stitching and gold/bronze stitched lettering looks fantastic. Some may not like the stitching of the guns and knife, but I do! The only thing I didn't like was 'Slayer' stitched on the back, but others might. Could that be customized? I didn't see that as an option but may have missed it. Regardless, it's an impressive chair! Final thoughts - most Chinese-made chairs are made from the same handful of companies with the same general design, yet, prices vary from $120 up to $600 with few meaningful differences. There aren't many 'big and tall' chairs, regardless of manufacturer origin, and this seems to be the better option for the money. I would have preferred a US made (or Canada made) chair, but they are very expensive ($500 - $1200), however, the quality and warranty is much better. Sadly, those prices are too rich for my blood. This is a good alternative for those on a budget and in need of a heftier/roomier chair. ... show more
