Description

Animated children's feature based on the novel by Roald Dahl. After being discovered by the three farmers he alternatively steals chickens, ducks and turkeys from, Mr. Fox (voice of George Clooney) finds his life is in jeopardy. In an attempt to catch and kill him, the farmers stake out his foxhole but when this fails, they begin to dig him out. In a race against time, Mr. Fox and his family dig their way further underground in an attempt to escape. After three days in hiding, Mr. Fox is forced to come up with a fantastic plan in order to save the lives of his starving family.

Interesting... artsy. Lots of celebrity voices you'll recognize. Some adult themes, but in my opinion good for 10 years and up. We have a 'boys club house' and it has a DVD player - so I stock a few classics and I liked this one. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. The production design relies on tangible materials—real miniature trees, actual sand, authentic textures—creating environments computer animation cannot replicate convincingly. Anderson’s deliberate autumnal palette, with orange appearing in every frame, provides seasonal warmth without sentimentality. The stop-motion work proves fluid and expressive, character movements conveying as much personality as voice performances. Clooney brings calibrated charm to Mr. Fox while Streep grounds the fantastical elements through restraint.
