First of all, there is a lot to like about this coffee maker. I was looking for something that was small, easy to clean, and supported a slow brewing process for a stronger coffee. This one met all of those objectives! The way that you fill water on this unit is unique and I like that it has a screen to catch anything that might fall into the water reservoir. I have filtered water on the refrigerator, so I just keep refilling a plastic water bottle which seems to be the right tool to get water in there without spilling any. The only small complaint I have is that the basket that holds the coffee grounds if you're not using a pod, snapped apart the first week of use. I contacted the manufacturer who is going to send me a replacement when they are back in stock. I'm satisfied with my purchase! ... show more

Works well for a one cup serving. I like to use my own coffee grounds so this works well for me. Brews quickly and coffee comes out hotter than my regular coffee pot system. I use the bold brew feature. I also use a paper filter in the basket provided. The additional paper filter makes for easy clean up and brews a less bitter, smooth tasting cup of coffee. I like using a short mug but that allows for some splashing during brewing. Using an upside-down small glass container under the cup to raise the mug helps eliminate the splashes. After brewing, I flip the container to catch the residual drips for super easy clean up. The reservoir opening is narrow so I need to use a measuring cup with a spout to load the water. It would be nice for this maker to include a narrow measuring device with clearly marked measurements that correlate with the markings in the reservoir for easy filling. Not a big deal but would make it better for sure. The basket for the coffee grounds seems flimsy and I suspect that it will break in time but I hope I’m wrong. All and all, this coffee maker works fine for me and I hope it stands the rest of time. ... show more

I love the machine! I love the coffee it makes! The BEST coffee!!! Just sometimes with my fully compostable coffee pods, the pod doesn’t fully puncture and there is only water in your cup or water is spilling over the top of the machine. I am not sure if the poker thing in the machine should be longer to penetrate the biodegradable material or if the pod material itself is not pulled tightly enough for any machine to fully puncture 🤷♀️ Either way I am not giving up on this machine because the coffee is fabulous but I have remedied it by puncturing the pod first with a kabob stick. I will likely start using the refillable cup and using biodegradable coffee filter liners. OR possibly trying a different brand of compostable pods. I will not go to plastic pods for any machine!! ... show more

When I had to buy a new coffee maker, I was a little hesitant to go with something other than Keurig again. I researched quite a few of them and decided I would go with the Famiworths. The size is good and seems a little more compact than Keurig. Very easy set up and I also like that the space for the cup is big enough to fit more than just a standard sized coffee cup. I switch off between grounds and the K-Cup and the grounds filter is good with not letting many grounds in the cup. The brewing times seems to be slightly longer than what I had before but not a big deal. Overall I'm happy with this machine and the price was good. So the first one I ordered I had to return because it was “frozen” with both lights flashing and would do nothing. Nothing. So I took a chance because sometimes you just happen to get a bad unit, right? So glad I did. Unfortunately the lid on cup that is used for loose coffee broke off the very first time I used it. Now that’s all the bad stuff. NOW FOR THE GOOD…… This little machine makes the best hot strong coffee!! I mean the best. Far far better than the 3 (yes 3) Keurigs that I’ve gone through in 5years. I’ll never buy another Keurig. Ever. I’m single and have only one cup a day and the 3 expensive Keurigs still died that quickly. So I’m VERY happy with my little new friend. This is perfect for my needs! The small footprint fits on my very small kitchen counter, it has a bold brew setting, includes a filter so I can use my own coffee, and reliably makes a single good cup of coffee quickly. I compared competitors' single cup coffee makers, but the either didn't have a bold brew setting, had a larger footprint, or were surprisingly expensive. I don't use coffee pods, I want to use my own (far less expensive) coffee. This little machine has everything I might need for working at home in a very small space. Time will tell if it holds up to 1 to 2 cups a day daily use, but I'm hopeful! It's replacing a 10 year old worn out old fashioned drip coffee machine, so it's both a step up and a win for me! ... show more

Obviously this was intended to make one cup at a time, but for my household, that is perfect. I only drink one cup of coffee a day, and it's also helpful for making a cup of hot water for tea. Beware those who like their coffee blisteringly hot: this machine doesn't quite get to the temperature of my previous coffee maker. Sadly, it also is not tall enough for most of my travel mugs. It definitely brews coffee from both grounds and kcups. I would like very much if it would accept my favorite mug but it is about 3/16 in too short, oh well. The coffee could stand to be hotter, I find myself using a microwave to raise the temperature of the brewed coffee. I am dubious about how long the lid will last on the grounds container. It seems pretty flimsy and I expect the "hinge" will be short lived, but that is to be seen. ... show more
