We love these bowls for a quick lunch. They are perfect to make a quick bowl dish, but can basically be used for anything. You can put them in the microwave to heat your food up, and they can easily be put in the dishwasher. The only thing I don't like that much, is that they are super heavy. I wish they could be lighter. They were packed very save, however, and you don't need to worry about getting broken plates, when you order. ... show more

These are nice pasta/salad bowl-plates (I like to call them blates lol!!). The speckling is cute without looking juvenile or dirty. They have a matte finish. I prefer things to be a little glossier because I don't like how my nails or forks feel against matte stuff sometimes but it's not a big deal. They looked matte in the product photos so I expected this. They do not really save space when stacked!! I am taking off a star for this. Please check the product photo to see how they stack, basically because the walls are directly perpendicular they do not nest at all. They can wobble a bit stacked on top of each other. Depending on how wide the spacing between vertical separators is on your dishwasher you may or may not be able to fit them in there neatly. ... show more

The only issue is one of the bowls was broken. There was a message inside stating "if one is broken send a message and we will replace." It will take 3 weeks for the new one to arrive. Beside that they are beautiful bowls. The are heavy and look well made.

The 8.5" ceramic Pasta bowl, dark gray in color received in a set of 4 are quite durable and versatile in use as a bowl and as a plate as well. They are microwave, oven, refrigerator and dishwasher safe. These can be used for a variety of meals served. However the bowl particularly in this size is bit heavy. The appearance is not attractive as shown in product information. The mentioned practical depth of 1.6" is in fact the bowl's total height from the bottom surface of the base. So the actual depth is 1.6" minus the thickness of the base. Lastly, this size creates space around the bowl in the dishwasher which cannot be effectively used. ... show more

I was really looking forward to getting white “bowls” that were wide, but flat, that had sides that weren’t too high, and that were big enough so that I could serve pasta, or polenta, or a nice salad, or any dinner I was serving my family. These Famiware are exactly the size I was looking forward to adding to my dinnerware inventory, but A) they have black speckles on them I didn’t see in the Amazon photos, and B) they are very, very, very heavy — one pound, eleven ounces, to be exact. I like these dishes, but they’re not the versatile plates I was hoping to get. Also, they're not that stackable. They can sit on top of each other, but not quite inside each other. ... show more

These are heavy pasta bowls. Great for salads, pasta and many other dishes. These are a little smaller than my regular pasta dishes and a little more shallow. I added a picture of them both for comparison, this pasta bowl is on the left. But they are still adequate size and they wash up with no issues in the dishwasher. I'm not in love with the way they stack in the cabinet, but that's not a deal breaker. I do like the speckled look of them. I love the colors of these bowls- I got the mismatched set, and the different colors look great together and also look great with my existing mix of blues and whites that I have for other dishes. The size and shape of the bowls is interesting. They said they were cereal bowls, but I can't imagine eating cereal in these- I think they are much too shallow for anything remotely liquid.
